I just completed my second service on my front differential The first one I pulled the cover so I could inspect, this time I drained using the drain plug. I while I was applying liquid thread tape to the plug, I noticed it has a rubber o ring. Has anyone else noticed this? I checked the Mopar parts web site and they do not list an o ring in their available parts. I usually like having a backup for items like this but not sure where to find without physically matching it. Any ideas?

You might have to email Spicer and ask. I cannot even find the drain plug as a separate orderable part to see if a o-ring comes with it.

There's your O- ring.

And again here
OP is looking for the O-Ring size, not if the plug has an O-Ring. Unless I missed something, neither video states the O-Ring size.

I'm not sure of any exact cut-off (model, year, etc.) or anything that would signify which one you have without crawling under and looking though.
It was a late 2021 model cut in when they deleted the the both front and rear drain plug. It was across all Gladiator models.

Maybe I got the last one. October 21
Most of the disussion I have read on it mainly on the JL side is that there is going to be a few stragglers mixed in and it was not a clean cut in.

If Jeep is listening… put the drain plugs back in. Thanks

Enough of the cost reduction crap. Enough of making it difficult for people to service their vehicle. Now we have to take the diff cover off… yea it allows us to inspect the gears but that’s typically not necessary.

In our current world, critical thinking and growth are becoming obsolete. People are able to do less for themselves… they are forgetting how to do things. These design changes, which may seem minor, are an example of corporations running the world. It’s more of a narcissistic compassion on the part of the company, rather than a benefit to the consumer.
