V3 is what I got from Weathertech and I would like to find a V2. When I reached out to them they said the V3 is the new one and the pics online are wrong.

What trim did you order from WeatherTech?
"Rubicon" from both, WeatherTech (Amazon) and NAPA.com.

My Gladiator Rubicon has less than 150 miles on it and it has become glaringly obvious I need some mud flaps. It is painting the sides brown and I am concerned not only with upkeep, but rock chips and such. Here is what it looks like just from the gravel road leading to my driveway.

I was hoping to see some pics of front mud flaps on Rubicon models so I can make a decision on which I like best, 'cause I need these things pronto.

Thanks in advance.

JTR and a long gravel drive/road and I have the same issue. The rear door hinges have taken a beating. At least they are aluminum so haven't rusted. But here in the PNW, mud season shows up everywhere bumper to bumper.
Besides the paint chip issue, I just give her a good spray down once a month. Drops 40#s of mud every time.

Yup.

My JT has only 1,400 miles right now. I took the truck on a dirt road last weekend; the passenger-side rear door hinge already has a big chip on it; mud flaps and all.

How many people are using their new Rubicon without mud flaps? I am mostly scared of paint scratches and chips. I have never seen a factory vehicle throw so much debris up the side of the body before.

To be honest, I don't care for the look of the RokBlokz and am hemming and hawing over what to do. I am just muddying it up still, haha.

Actually, if your don't need/care for the Rubicon rock rails, the best protection for the sides of the Jeep comes from the side steps that come standard on Overland/High Altitude.

I had those side steps on my JL Sahara; they protected the sides of the Jeep better than any mud flaps.

I haven’t had flaps on mine for 23k miles. There aren’t so many other vehicles with such a wide track width to body width (excluding fenders) ratio. The fenders work great but the angle from the tires to rear door hinges follows a trajectory below the fender. They are in the firing line, which is an apt description when you hear the shot-like sound of a tread-width piece of gravel accelerating into the hinge. It happens to me in the same spot every time, right at the point the jeep breaks 45mph when the gravel reaches tread escape velocity.

Which mud flaps are those? I am looking at getting the Weathertech and fender flares but I'm not sure if the flares will be in the way of the flaps.

My vote is for the weather tech mudflaps. Does a great job and looks great on the Rubicon. Should be a stock option for debris and rock chips on the hinges.

I went ahead and ordered the WT flaps. I may still order the flares and trim the bottom if necessary to fit with the flaps.

Bump ... Has this question, regarding compatible flare extender, been answered?
