I have removed my front fenders/turn signals/DRL/Park lamps and I'm trying to hook up aftermarket LED turn signals to a JT Rubicon with a 'Premium' package.
I've ordered the original Molex connectors in order to just plug my new turn signals into the original wiring harness.
I found the two pins that make the new amber LED's blink correctly, however my JT has the 'Premium' package which contains a fancy-schmancy doodad called a "fault sensor" circuit which warns the driver there is a problem by flashing the dashboard green turn signal indicator at double speed. (Just like the old school clicker 'cans') In addition when it does the start-up checks the EVIC display says 'Front turn signals inop'.
I know which pin is the fault sensor circuit but I don't know how to hook it up.
I know that I'm not the first person on the planet who has removed the fenders on one of these.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Put the fenders back on is funny but not helpful.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I’ve been digging everywhere and can’t find anything

I did fix this! But it was almost 3 years ago. It will take me a few days to find my old notes on how I did it.
I apologize but I am seriously disorganized. At least I remember taking notes just in case somebody else needed help. Be patient.

I found my notes on my Farm computer today, they consist of a couple of pdf's and a couple of jpg's and the actual written notes are in Notepad format (txt). How do I send all of that to you?
E-mail? I read through them and 99% is just about researching the original Jeep connectors so I would not cut up the original wiring harness. The notes end right BEFORE I actually fixed the double speed flasher problem. No sweat. I will lift the hood and check how I physically altered the wiring harness because it has been working correctly these last 3 years. A little more patience.

I will then add onto my .txt notes with the correct fix action before I send them to you.
Because I got no answer to my query in 3 years I assumed no one else had this problem.
Forums really do work!

I hate to admit defeat but I finally realized that I solved this problem by installing a Tazer JL Mini.
What's even worse is that my degree is in Computer Electronics Engineering. How embarrassing is that!

Hey Big John,

I'm in the same position with my Gladiator installing aftermarket fenders with their own LED lights for DRL and turn signals. I have a Tazer JL Mini but I'm not sure of how you got the lights to be "accepted" and not get any codes or fast blinking lights? Are you able to tell me the sequence or steps you used to do this?

TIA

I think it's page 8 of the User's Guide;
Set LED Front Turn: This setting is to configure the vehicle for LED front turn signals. If using aftermarket LED turns on a factory LED Jeep, switch this setting to NO then back to YES, this will clear the bulb out and hyperflash.
After configuration, perform a few 5 minute sleep cycles. Turn signals should be run for 20 seconds each before hyperflash and errors clear up.
Did that help?

Yes, thank you very much that does help. Another issue that I'm worried about before I do my aftermarket fenders is the lack of wiring for the fault sensor wire. Do you know that if you reset the taser and then have it relearn the turn signals will it ignore this fault sensor wire? My Gladiator has the premium LED package already but the fenders that I'm hooking up that are aftermarket only have three wires and not the six wires that are on the OEM connector. So I guess I'm also wondering what needs to be done, if anything, to the fault sensor wire after hooking up the new fenders.

This is off the top of my head (As opposed to checking my notes; 20 miles away) you don't need to do anything with the fault sensor wire, the Tazer takes it out of the equation.
If you don't want to butcher your factory harness, my notes also contain the info on where to buy the factory Molex connectors, pins, etc. Let me know if you are interested and I will post it here.

That is good news about the sensor wire. Yes, if you have the time I would appreciate the info on the connectors and such. Thanks again for your time.

4 month later update lol I did not purchase a tazer. I went and got the quake led DRL W/turn signal and side marker and then used the side marker connection to plug my fender lights into. Looks pretty sick IMO, and hyperflash gone as well as no more dash error message. Everything works as advertised and I get a bit more lighting! Thrilled with it!
