Do the steps do the same job as the rails as far as rock protection? I ordered the Mopar steps. I’m now wondering if I did the right thing!

i think so. obviously the lower steps decreases ground clearance which may be an issue if you go rock crawling. i definitely need the steps for my little kids. also the pro steps are aluminum and thus significantly lighter than the steel rock rails. it attaches and uses the same holes as the rock rails. the only difference it used 3 attachment points instead of 4 like the rock rails. i don’t know if this will make a difference w/ durability in the future
