Complete newb at this GMRS radio game And tuning the antenna. Picked up a Midland MXT275. I have the option to run a ghost antenna. Does this antenna need to be tuned as well?

Thanks in advance for the assist !

I don't think you tune GMRS radio's as I have never done that on mine I think tunning is for CB's

There is no tuning on the ghost antenna. Its a sub par antenna. Basically a rubber duck in a pepper shaker.

Got it on ghost. Will be looking at others as well.

This is video that got me asking the question. Just want to be sure I am doing what needs to be done for equipment sake.

The majority of commercial GMRS/LMR antennas are pre tuned. Your best all around option is a standard 1/4 wave antenna. You will get good performance and still be small enough to be out of the way. On top of it they are like $15.00 if it gets ripped off.
