I'm slowly plugging away at building my JT very similar to the Wayout concept. Of course it's not going to be exact but some things I'm doing as close as possible.
Here is what I've done so far:

Installed Tazer JL mini
35" Nitto tires with fifteen52 Analog HD wheels.
DV8 steel bumper with Warn EVO 10K winch with synthetic line. Warn shackles & winch hook.
Custom Aluminum rack based off the Wayout concept but to accommodate a factory trifold Tonneau cover. Rack will be Line X'd next week. The upper support frame of the rack will have fittings so it can be filled with approximately 10 gallons of potable water.
Ikamper skycamp RTT with Line X shell.

Things still left to do:

Install cowl KC lights.
Install KC lights on the brush bar of the bumper.
Have the JT exterior wrapped exactly like the wayout concept.
Remove antenna and cover with Trail Rated badge.
Install lights into the bed rack
Remove all red Rubicon & jeep decals/emblems.
And I'm sure there is more I forgot to mention.

Wow! I like what you’ve done!

I started the Wayout thread on here because I knew it’s a great concept by Jeep. And you’ve done a terrific version of it!

Wayout thread: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...ilding-planning-to-build-a-jeep-wayout.20229/

The big question I and I’ll bet others will have is regarding your custom aluminum rack. Please tell us all about it - did you design it? Who dabbed it? What’d it cost, etc?

This pic shows how much overhang is needed with a rack supporting a RTT and it’s been my only concern - the height of the rack due to the RTT being longer than the box.

The rack was fabricated by a welder I know here in Washington state. You can find him on Instagram at TRO fabrications. I basically gave him several pictures of the wayout rack and told him I wanted this rack but needed to work with a tonneau cover and my RTT. I chose aluminum to reduce weight and also so I can use the upper support to hold water to use for showering or whatever. It will heat up nicely once the rack is linex black.
The rack cost me $2,500 and I think that is fair considering the cost of aluminum and I have a 1off rack that works with a tonneau. I have asked several manufacturers if their racks would work with a tonneau and could not find any I liked that did.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the skycamp but it is one of the bigger RTT. I think it is 84" so that is why it overhangs so far. I wanted a rommie tent so I was willing to sacrifice. When it's time to take the top off this rack is light (70lbs ish)so I'll just slide it out of the way.
Regarding height off the roof.. he builds many off road projects and wanted to take flex between the bed & cab into mind so there were no issues in severe situations off road.

Here are some pictures of how the rack mounts into the bed rail system.

Really well done in design and execution! Even the drilled gussets add function and style. Do you have close up pictures with the tonneau cover closed? Mine hangs over the sides slightly.

Thanks! Yeah the gussets were an added touch more for support cause the rack overhangs the bed but with the holes and they are 3/8" aluminum they will come in handy to latch things down or whatever.
Are you asking if the tonneau overhangs the rack? The entire side has 1/4" plate and the tonneau now seals on that instead of the bed rail.

Thanks! I see it now. I didn’t realize the extensions were outside the bed, really well done!

Ticked more things off the list yesterday:
Installed KC LED spot cowl lights.
Installed KC 6" halogen flood lights to the brush bar.
Installed mopar matte black grill.
Installed badge glow auxiliary switch distribution panel.
Had inlet & outlets welded into the upper rack frame for potable water storage.

Nice build. How much poke are you seeing with those wheels and tires? I like those Analogs and a couple of the Black Rhino offerings, but I am looking for the tires to be largely tucked under the flares. Would it be possible to see a view from the front and back?

I'll try to take a picture tomorrow. They stick out a little bit and I do get some spray from them. The other day on the trail my tread got some mud in them and when I got on the paved road it threw some mud up on the windshield so they definitely stick out past the fender flares.

Pics would be great. I would appreciate it. I’m disappointed to hear about the spray, but if all of the wheels I’m considering stick out, maybe I just need to decide on a set and deal with it.

Any wheel wider than the factory ones are going to stick out. These are 12.5" and I think factory are 10"
