I have never owned a wrangler and if I am honest have zero desire to ever purchase a wrangler. Many response on the thread I get the impression are from long time wrangler owners. I'd like to know if what the split is on here.

Never owned a jeep anything. I'd like a wrangler, but it doesn't make sense with our family. The Gladiator however, ticks boxes for truck, convertible, cool looking, always wanted a wrangler.

The only box it doesn't check is super fast, but the Hercules might. =)

I have never had a Jeep of any kind. I mostly have only owned mediocre 4x4s that are good enough for my lifestyle. Like Isuzu rodeo and my current Mitsubishi Montero Sport.

You are really going to love your first jeep. Everything is better, stronger, faster.

I do think that us truck owners with families are given a chance to have a "fun" vehicle with the gladiator. Both fun and functional. I'm not building any barns, so the 5 foot bed is plenty big for me

Nothing Jeep. Nothing Dodge or Chrysler until our 2009 300C Srt8. Always GM before. Thinking of leaving the “fast and furious” speed world of Camaro and street truck & heading off road with a combination daily/play. My current commute is in my Sierra for 110mi round...avg 17-18mpg...same for days in the SRT...12mpg for the few Camaro days. Restoring a ‘67 GTO ‘vert so open air soon available, but a Jeep open air is different than a road only convertible. I dunno, maybe it’s a pipe dream. Gotta drive it, gotta “love” it....$$ will factor in my decision.
