So I just got a quote for my Jeep Gladiator Sport lifts and I wanted some feedback/opinions. I’m between going with BDS lift kit 2” inch with Fox shocks or JKS 3.50” inch lift with fox shocks, and control arms. So I wanted to know I have a sport so I don’t have the rubicon gear ratio and I don’t plan on re gearing anytime soon. Do I need to re-gear if I’m going with the 3.50 lift kit ? By the way I’ll be running on with either lift kit I end up installing (18inch fuel rim) with 35 inch Nitto tires. Thanks guys !

Everything I have heard on a non Rubicon or Mojave, you are going to notice a hit on performance with 35s, especially with heavier(but good) Nittos. People still do it though, depends on what you are ok with and how severe your offroad plans are.

the question is what tire size you’re planning on running not what lift you get. You can probably get away with it but you will definitely notice the sluggishness.

I will be running on 35s smlobx. I plan on off-roading a bit
I was quoted this for 5600$
BDS Suspension 2”
-Lift kit
-Fox 2.0 Shocks
-Fox 2.0 Steering Stabalizer
-BDS Heavy Duty Adjustable Trac Bar

Nitto graplers ridge 35s

Fuel rebel 18 inch Matte black
How much is it to rehear by the way ? I’ve seen the gears aren’t that expensive. Thanks guys.

By the way any reviews or have any of you heard about BDS? I haven’t heard much about them other than Fox owns them. Thank you

Id look at geometry correction brackets at a minimum, but if your off roading adjustable LCAs if they aren’t included in your lift. The control arms will get your caster back into spec so it doesn’t drive like trash after turning it into a bro-dozer.

$5600 seems pretty expensive for that. That’s probably 2500 worth of tires and wheels. Fox 2.0 shocks are not that expensive. I don’t know. Just seems like a lot of money for a simple 2 inch lift and tires.

As for a re-gear, parts are about 1500 bucks. Another 1500 or 2000 bucks for labor easily.

I did the JKS lift w/ lca's & Fox 2.0's w/ stabilizer a few years ago, zero issues. My goal was a general-purpose offroader done correctly if not extravagantly. I also wanted room to go to 37's in the future.

No hardcore wheeling, but plenty of low-speed putzing around in baja. Running 35" baja boss m/t's D-rated, significant difference in performance/braking but still works fine with 4:10's. I see 8th regularly on the flats. A little over 50k miles & doing great.

Completely satisfied w/this setup, glad I didn't go with a cheaper option. Hope this helps!

The price you quoted for the BDS seems crazy, but i'll leave you to that one.
I think you're making a mistake with regard to the 18" wheels. You will have to air down to much lower pressures to facilitate the same squat you get with 17's to increase offroad traction and much smoother ride. Load rated E tires are 10 ply...the ones that go on 3/4 to 1-ton pickups. Not to mention, 18" tires are typically more expensive than 17's. No way would I take the rims off my 3/4 dodge and put them on my JTRD. Unless it's just a looks thing, I'd strongly recommend you stick with a 17!

I think if your truck has the 4.10 gears you should be ok with the 35’s. You will notice a loss of power but it won’t be horrible. I have 37s and am running a tereflex 3.5 lift with stock 3.73 gears and I can tell you there is definitely a loss of power with that lol. But still drivable and I take it on trails occasionally. I will be trying to re gear to 4.88’s soon though. I think you will be fine. Drive and see how it feels for you. It’s more the tire size than lift that will effect the decision to re gear or not.

I gave 4.10 on 35's and have zero issues was thinking of 37's . But read you need a minimum of 4.56.

I appreciate the feedback man. I’m not doing it myself. I don’t know how to install any of that stuff so that’s why I come on here and ask you guys to see what y’all think. Remember I have to pay for labor as well. I got the 3” inch BDS lift instead. Just alittle worried because I won’t have control arms and I’m running on 3.73
