Neat to see how they test for frontal area and weight at the same time. Simulates pulling a camper nicely.

That trailer likely weighs around 2,000 lbs. and I'm not sure about those weights. There are six of them so if they weigh 500 lbs. each that's another 3,000 lbs. worth of load. Interesting....

I wonder if that is the diesel from the other thread? Same camo, same fender flairs, black wheels. I know that wouldn't be hard to do on any other vehicle, but it would seem silly to me for them to torture test a model that is already in production.

Wouldn’t be surprised if those are 1000lb weights and the total weight and trailer are 8000lbs. Manufactures seem to over test and then lower their ratings for consumers to be on the safe side.

Agreed = trailer is likely at/above max weight rating for however the JT pulling it is rated.
That screen helps simulate air drag of a camper but not 'sway' so the test is focused for pull/stop only.

Absolutely. All ratings given to consumers have a factor of safety built in.

i wonder how many guys are totally annoyed by the plywood talk? I personally find it hilarious and a great way to pass the time while we wait on pricing. We beat that issue like a dead horse made out of plywood.

Oh trust me I was waiting for you to plywood hijack this thread. Lol I enjoy it and it helps pass the time and cover the anger and frustration from waiting

4x8ft OSB pricing starts at $24.58 and 4x8ft plywood pricing starts at $23.85. I might bump up to the 3/4 inch for a few more dollars.

What do you estimate the size of the plates to be?

Estimate 6" x 18" x 48" C.R.S Plate = Mass = 1473.924 pounds x 6 is an 8843 pound load

@ 36" wide it would be -Mass = 1105.443 pounds x 6 =6632lbs

I have been known to stick my plywood where it doesn't belong..... That's weird.

But I'm not the only one, jeepguy225 enjoys inserting his plywood into "threads" too...... Less weird? Lol

TBH not sure, I don’t know this forum of testing well so I couldn’t say what it would be. But judging by the trailer with the weights I’d guess it’s probablg the 36” wide because that would give the weight plus the trailer in the 8-9000lb range. Which seems like a max too on the gladiator which I’m sure will be lowered significantly for consumers.
