Today I just ordered another Gladiator I have already a 2020 Gladiator. When I submitted my order to Gupton and tri citys in eden nc,looking for best quote. Both places respond by saying Gorilla Glass had to be added to the order for the order to be accepted.anyone else heard this...no problem with adding it,just curious

Yes it is and on the build I chose to not get it but both dealerships said jeep required adding it

Maybe some package requires it otherwise I can't see how they can just generically require such an option without it being required by a given package. That's like saying "you can't order any gladiator unless you pay another 500 and get this option."

Travis at tri citys said he ordered 3 today prior to mine and all 3 required GG added said yesterday ordered 1 and didn't require

My only question is what's the benefit? And will there be an availability issue when its time to replace?

I orderd a JT Rubicon Ecodiesel in late Feb. Gorilla Glass was not required. Took delivery 2 weeks ago. FWIW.

Lighter weight - quite a bit lighter.
More resistant to the major impacts that are most likely to cause injury....... otherwise, since the outer layer is still standard windshield glass, it's not immune to chips and a sharp rock could crack it like any other.
So far I've not seen anyone with any reason or evidence that it can or would resist the sort of impacts or cracks or chips that cause other windshield damage.
But I'm for the light weight part, and the safety part in a larger accident.

The current order guide from March shows nothing about GG being required on any combination of builds... but FCA can change things when they want!

Maybe they have a surplus of GG and need to get rid of them?

Someone at GG knows someone at Jeep. Bought my JTR oof the lat and it has the GG. Also has the headliner. That's about a grand I could have done without.

You could have shopped around for one that was cheaper, without those options.

Those are two options I was trying to find an Overland with, and no luck.
