I built a similiar system, audio control d6.1200, illusion 6.5, illusion 4" components, kicker l7 8". going to add another d6.1200 with 6.5" and 2.5" wideband for the soundbar.
I paid a shop to install speakers and a different amp. They did a horrible job, I didnt want to learn car audio over over again, walked in willing to pay. shop screwed themselves for under selling. I spent easy another $1500 when I left... since they didnt sell me the right equipment.
I would stay away from Car Tunes in Brandon, Fl
All in Im about $3000-$3500 plus my tuning time/ learning curve but I buy equipment wholesale

Ease up on criticism for how much was spent for this.

Many people here drop $10,000 (and WAY up) in a heartbeat.

To each their own.

'Tip of the hat' to the OP for spending your money for what matters to you. You said it was worth it, so that is what matters. Congrats!

The trolls/haters don't bother me at all. They have no clue what all went in to make sure I got the sound and system I wanted. To them, it's just a new head unit and a few speakers. They don't have the ability to understand that this wasn't a 'slap it in and let it go' type install that would have wires hanging all over the place. They also don't know what each of the components themselves cost, nor do they know the difference between a custom unit and buying a few things from best buy (or the like) and throwing it in, hoping that when they turn the unit it on it'll work. They can hate all they want.

Sounds like a solid project for sure.
A lot of folks also don't understand that labor charges at custom shops are very pricey as well, and add up quickly.

I had a shop do a custom system in my JT recently as well.
All in all I'm $20,000 into it.
Let me tell you, its mind boggling incredible. Its an audio adventure everywhere I go. Just straight ridiculous lol.

(4) Mmats 1.25" Super Tweeters (For custom sound bar)

I have 3k+ in my home stereo and get many compliments on it, basically it's a tube amp and some speakers I built, you guys would put me to shame with your car audio. I would really love to hear a high end car system like you guys have installed. I've had friends with decent car audio systems but never to the level you guys have taken it. Awesome.

That is MUCH more than I would ever spend. But absolutely totally understand where/how the $11,000 number came up.

If you want a cheapie $399 installed hack job, then fine.

Otherwise expect to pay $100/hr for custom work and this job would have required a lot of custom work. It looks fantastic. I just wish I wasn't so cheap. Congratulations.

I have given some thought to a kick ass setup in an old Chevy that I have. Part of what deters me is the fact that I'll sell the Jeep at some point and will get very little back for the sound system.

My old Chevy will be with me until I die.

Nice install. Yeah, that is not some Best Buy slapping lipstick on a pig and sending it out install.

I actually have that same DeWalt inverter sitting in my Garage still in the box. I may copy your install of yours.
