Alright, I know there’s others like me out there! Who all goes out buying entirely too many new cars year after year (or even more than once a year)? I’m 40 years old, and now on Jeep #14 and vehicle #49.... Yep, I definitely have a problem, lol.

Not as bad as that but I’ve been in a cycle lately of buying new (on credit), drive for 18-24 months, trade in for what’s owed on it and buy new again. My coworker teases that I’m just renting but I figure I at least know the history, upkeep on it and trade before it starts needing any kind of repairs. My only maintenance cost is a few oil changes.

40 here and I think my tally is 20+. But they haven't all been Jeep. I've had muscle cars, full size trucks, SUVs, etc. It's an illness, but I'm trying to stop now. Going to force myself to at least get close to the end of this lease. *fingers crossed*

That is a good start...in the early years I would buy a clunker and drive til dead...one lasted a week...

I have only had a dozen Jeeps but over 200 total and the last 45 of them brand new... lease short term and pay for insurance and gas

I never thought of it but the only new vehicles I have ever bought were all Jeeps this will be the third new car/truck (and one motorcycle) however I tend to hold on to them. The JT is my third vehicle purchased in about 12 years and I traded in my 2011 JK for it.

I'm on about an every 3 year cycle, sometimes I don't even make it that long. Always new, I'm 40 and have never had a used car, which is dumb, wife's next car I'm going to look for something lightly used I think.

Do you flip cars or just always like to have something different? I had a buddy who bought cars at auctions, I think between him and his wife they could buy 20 a year without being considered a dealer.

He did that for about 10 years so he’s up there with your numbers!

Curious what’s your story for having that many?

Not as high as some of you, but I guess at 31 having 6-10 depending on what you count still kind of high if you include the two motorcycles and significant other's cars. Jeep is the first non-lame one of the bunch, lol

1998 - not telling what it is
1998 - Kawasaki Ninja 250
2009 Honda Fit
1982 Suzuki GS-GK1100
2006 - Honda Odessy
2013 Toyota Prius - still have
2014 Toyota Sienna - still have
2020 Jeep Gladiator - Obviously still have

Others I sort of owned being in a relationship paying for upkeep and/or payments on
2000 Ford Explorer
2017 Toyota Camry

Just Traded in my 2018 daily driver civic exl for a 2019 accord sport. Msrp for the accord was over 27 and I got it for about 22 OTD, and they gave me 18 trade in for the civic when I bought it for about 20. Had the civic for about 16 months and 25k miles. With the equity I had in the civic the payment was about the same. Not to mention the civic got in a wreck, someone side swiped me. I got $2400 for Diminshed value so I actually made a decent amount by owning the civic!

I need to write mine down. I’m around 50 cars in the past 28 years.
This thread makes me feel better about my “car issues”. Lol.
