You are not the first. Seems to be a issue on both the JT and JL.

Read the instructions first. There's a specific direction you pull the covers on JL and JT. They aren't designed to just pop off.

There aren't directions in the manual or on the cover itself. Looking at the ridges on the front it looks like it wants you to push it to the left towards the rollbar. I got it off ok but it's a pain to reinstall because of the rollbar.

I just don’t connect my back up during the warmish months because it comes on and off more so than when it’s cold and really don’t need the rear defrost when it’s warm. When it gets cold and it appears that the top will stay on for the season I connect. That way it just disconnect once maybe twice a year. Now those door connectors....ugh!
