Yeah I looked at their install video and in looking at my JTR the skid plate doesn’t actually attach to the bumper, unlike the MP Concepts set up. So it got me to wondering if ai could just keep the OEM skid plate and use their bumper…

fits fine..had it on my 18' Rubicon, gonna move it to my Gladiator to shed some weight.
I'm currently using the aluminum skid plate with my mopar steel bumper on the gladiator.

it's the winch plate thats the issue, the cutout for the swaybar disconnect it not large enough, have to make it bigger.

I had another winch plate that i used.

(I had the skid plate and center part of bumper rhino lined)

I’m about to order this bumper for my Overland. Any reason to stay away from it? It ticks all the boxes for me. I have Rubicon LE springs and shocks so I’m not worried about any additional weight.

No reason at all. And it's super light, like, almost stock bumper light :)

I have the MPc on my Rubicon. I recommend tossing the included winch plate in scrap metal and budgeting for a properly-designed alternative. I bent it when winching in snow. Details in my build thread

I like the bumper, looks stock, very light. The powdercoat is not high grade though, and part of mine (on the psg-side extension) started to flake pretty quick. It hasn't gotten worse though, or showed up elsewhere. It is very rough, almost sandpaper texture, and loves to pack up with vegetation on tight trails.

So if I do not plan on installing a winch and leave out the included winch plate, the bumper and their skid plate will bolt right up? The OEM fogs fit ok? I have a Rubicon with the factory "plastic" bumper and OEM skid and would like to change it to the MPc version.

I have the same, Rubicon with fogs, plastic bumper, and OEM skid. The plastic bumper fogs have a different mounting bracket than the factory steel bumper, but the MP Concepts is designed for the plastic bumper brackets. Mine bolted right up. (Just something to remember if you ever get different fogs or trail lights there - you want the plastic bumper option)

The bumper comes with an aluminum skid plate which is considerably lighter than the stock Rubicon one - I used that instead of stock to save 10 lbs. Their aluminum one bolts right up. I gather you might need to drill some new holes in the stock one to make it fit - I never tried. A couple of years of hard trails have proven me right on this - I have plenty of scrapes on my full belly skids, control arms, axles, and sliders but nothing on this chin skid. It’s really more of a brush guard.

What did you do? lol

Mine is super heavy and surprisingly well constructed. I’ve never weighed it, but I think it weighs more than the bumper and skid plate combined. Mine is new. I wonder if they changed the design.

I am not sure what you mean by "What did I do?" The MPC website says their Aluminum bumper does not fit a Mojave or Rubicon. I was asking those that actually installed in on their Rubicon was there any issues.

Sorry. I was trying to quote the person who said they bent their winch plate. I don’t understand how that happened.

Oh, here’s how I bent the MPc winch plate. I also had to notch it to fit around the Rubicon sway disconnect module. But please don’t, just get something else
