I am pretty sure in AlphaOBD when it detects a VIN/PCM that is out of range, it gives you a warning, but lets you bypass and continue. I had to do this with my 2022 while waiting on the software updates to recalibrate my tires/speedo.
Tire size, etc. should work, but it totally prevented me from doing some diagnostics on my 2022.
JSCAN likely can also do the tire size calibration and gear ratio changes.

It’s just gonna make the reading more accurate it’s not gonna change the amount of fuel you actually use.
It will change other things as well - shift points, etc. as things are based on load, highway speed and more. Changes in shifting behavior can impact mpg. Huge? Not by a large factor, but I've seen it while trying to manipulate how it shifts by manually shifting and I can see mpg averages change.
And of course, it will absolutely change the accuracy of the cluster display as far as current and average mpg. If it thinks you have only gone 20 miles but with bigger tires you've actually gone 25 - that's going to impact how it figures fuel used over distance.

I might also add that if you don't recalibrate for larger tires, you may have an issue with warranty service as you get closer to the 36k mile mark. Your odo might say 36k, but in reality you've driven 38,500 (as an example - I didn't do the math). Your dealer might notice you didn't recalibrate and deny service to you... just a thought.

Yeah, absolutely it will have an effect on that stuff but we’re also talking about going from 33s to 38s. Any benefit mpg wise from just changing the tire size in the computer is going to be negligible but you’re right it will change some and I did say there would be none. It would be interesting to do some hand calculations over known distances to see what it would be. Of course there’s always gonna be other factors, but you could get a little closer of an idea of what adjusting for tire size alone gives you MPG wise, I just don’t think it would really be that much. The biggest benefit (at least to me) would having the odometer be correct and a more accurate mpg reading. Although I don’t know why it matters most dudes here with 37’s to 40s are and stock gears are getting 75 mpg while towing 45,000 pounds uphill against the wind…
