2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport S Max Tow
I have recently taken delivery of a 2020 Sport S Max Tow. The below item circled in the image came mounted in the bed. I have searched the forum and retailers but can’t figure out the purpose. Probably a dumb question but could any of you more experienced Gladiator owners help me to identify the purpose? Thank you in advance.

It's not stock Jeep part. Like Krusty said - someone added it, drilled into your floor to install the Rotopax mount.

I've always bought used, typically 2-4 years old. It still looks new but you can save a fair amount.

When I went to buy my Jeep, I found 2 things.
1) Used Gladiators didn't seem much less money that new sourced from Gupton.
2) None of them were equipped the way I wanted. Most importantly none had SelecTrack full time 4wd.

So I bought new, for the second time in my 50+ year life.

This will be my second ever new car purchase. At 60 years of age. First was a 2000 F-150.
Always been kinda budget conscious.
Guess that’s all out the door with a Gladiator!

At our age, we know our financial situation. We've both bought our first house decades ago and have retirement savings or a pension.

I do cringe when I read about posts from someone on this forum who appears to not yet own a home and is 25 years old and he's buying a $60k truck.

The risk of improper maintenance is the main reason I don’t

Thats why you ask sellers for service records.

I use the carfax app for my vehicles. I was told by an acquaintance in car sales that because shops use carfax, if you maintain a good carfax record you can use that as a bargaining point for selling. I successfully did this when we sold our grand Cherokee to carmax. I got them to add an extra $1,500 to their offer because i could verifiably show service records..including home oil changes w/receipts. They loved it.

just food for thought

Yeah but then you don’t know if they’re honest unless they get it serviced somewhere

Carfax just tells you if the car has been hit or repaired.

It doesn't tell you if all the services were done as required.
