So I finally got around to installing my hinge pin guides thar I got for Christmas. I'm someone who takes doors off a lot during summer and these seem lto save time. The only problem is they are all they same size so they don't cover all the threads on top pins. Looming on Amazon this seems to be the case with all I saw. Does anyone have any that screw all the way up on the top pins?

This is top pin vs bottom pin

I don't even use them on the bottom pin. Having the guide on the longer upper bolt helps get it aligned more easily. I've had mine on since day 1.

The actual pins are longer on the top, it makes it easier to install the doors

OP, my OCD with regards to your exact situation forced me to return the hinge pin guides I purchased right when we bought our JT, almost 3 years ago. We lived in North Carolina at the time and took the doors off all the time so I thought this would make the process a breeze but I couldn't stand them not covering all the threads. I, also, researched ad nauseum for a better solution and never found one unfortunately. We're in Iowa now, so while we do take the doors off as much as possible, it's not near as frequent so I just deal with the way it is stock.

Mine look like yours. My doors will be in the garage for quite a while.

I had the same issue with Amazon guides. I found this in one of the reviews and it worked perfect for me.

The whole point of them is that one ends up longer than the other so you're not trying to align both at the same time when you reinstall the doors. Hook the top one a little bit then you can align the bottom one. Much faster and less fiddly with the 50# door. I'm pretty OCD too but if I can look at something and know it's that way for a reason that satisfies it for me.

I haven't found any in black, trust me, looked thru many sites trying to find some. Wound up using some flat black spray paint I had laying around on them. As much as the doors stay off, I figured touch ups every so often wouldn't be too bad. They've actually held up well and haven't had to touch up.....yet.

This makes total sense….. I know this is an old thread but I’m looking to buy some of these myself. How are they holding up? I’d probably put anti-seize on the threads. Have you ever taken the pins off? My OCD would tell me to take them off and install the OEM nutserts over the winter. By periodically taking them off and lubing…could prevent them from rusting.
Thanks!

There's absolutely no reason to ever remove them once they're on. In fact they may start unscrewing themselves if you use antiseize.

I use anti-seize on mine and have no issues. I take them off and put OEM back on every winter. Never had them back off.
