Does the 8.4" system actually use a SIM for the hotspot functionality? Just trying to figure out if the system would be compatible with services other than AT&T. Best I remember, most AT&T phones are also compatible with TMobile so wasn't sure if the UConnect system might be as well. Figured Verizon was definitely out as an option.

It may have a SIM card, but the radio is probably locked to the AT&T network. Since the monitoring and Sirius functions are tied to it, changing networks is not something the user would likely be allowed to do.
