I have a 2020 jeep gladiator with 80,xxx miles. Seems to be a little sluggish turning over the last 2 days and volt meter on dash is staying at 14.5. Doesn’t seem to be charging. I thought dealership replaced both my batteries 2 years ago but it seems it might be the original. I’m guessing if it’s original it’s time for a new battery. What does everyone recommend for a battery

here is an example of what you should be looking for. Heat stamp- 14E05- 2014 (14), May (E) on the 5th (05)
Are there any recommended brands? I was just going to pick one up from Walmart. Is there anything that needs to be done when changing the main battery? I’ve changed batteries numerous times on other vehicles. But they didn’t have the secondary battery. How do make sure it’s not live when changing main battery

Yeah if you have gotten 3+ years out of them, you're on borrowed time. I'd get at them before the real cold weather arrives.

You always have the option to delete the secondary battery....unless you want to retain the features they support aka auto start/stop

If it turns over sluggish, why look at the running voltage? That's no indication of the battery's capacity or lack of.
You need to put a volt meter on the battery - not read the dash meter, and read what the battery itself says, even to the point of watching the battery voltage while you start it and see how low it goes.

14.5 is a pretty generic running voltage and will vary wildly depending on dozens of factors, including ambient temperatures.

Like others have said - you have a 2020 with original batteries? That's amazing!

Change BOTH, not just the one.
You need to disconnect the battery cables, and take the two black ground cables apart, separate them, when you take them off the IBS which sits on the main battery negative terminal.
There's a ton of info and posts here (one I made earlier today) on exactly how to prep for swapping batteries, what to do and what not to do.
DO reset the IBS
DO FULLY CHARGE BOTH NEW BATTERIES BEFORE installing them. Don't just slap a new battery in and drive it.
Even on other vehicles - you should always charge new batteries. (which means most people do it wrong)

You need to make sure the positive battery cable to lift off the main battery touches NOTHING. Wrap it in rags or whatever, but do not let it touch ground or anything for that matter. It's live as long as that aux battery is still in place - you'll blow fuses if you let it touch something while swapping the main battery.
But DO change both. If you don't, you'll be going through the process of changing a battery again.

Here's a bit more -

This is what I would recommend.

ACDelco Battery Asm - 94RAGM https://a.co/d/6wMVZdE

ACDelco Gold AUX14-200 36 Month Warranty Auxiliary AGM 200 CCA Battery https://a.co/d/esCoJyu

I replaced the Main battery a little over a year ago. I replaced the Aux battery a few weeks ago. I drove around with it dead for about six months with the ESS not available light on.

You've proven a point I've tried to make a few times.

someone experienced - fine, someone not experienced with these or batteries in general, I'd say replace both at once.
It depends on the owner/operator........ and how things are looking for that truck.

My situation allowed me to get away with it, but definitely not something I would advise others to try. I finally had to change out the Aux battery when the weather turned colder. It was reading only 5.3 volts, and that was after a six hour drive the day before. The Main battery was reading around 12.2 after pulling the Aux. I reset the IBS, charged both batteries, and put it all back together. The ESS error went away, and I now have to remember to press the button again every time I start it.
