Introduction:
Hello everyone, this is my third Jeep. My first Jeep was a white 2 door JK, then I traded it in for a used ‘20 JTR gas. I loved both of those Jeep’s and will share a photo of both of them, but was never really satisfied with the 3.6 power train. I customer ordered this Jeep after selling my JT on Facebook. Order was sent in Aug. 12 2021 and we were at the dealership on oct 7th to pick it up for a total of 1 month and 3 weeks start to finish. Today was the first full day home after a 1700 mile drive back from Idaho. Pressure washed it, clay bar'd it, did a paint correction, then applied 2 stacks of ceramic on the paint followed by detailing the interior. I am also in the process of applying clear self healing vinyl in trouble spots that may encounter tree branches on trail. You can check out my personal YouTube channel to follow along with the progress of the build here
Timeline:
8-12-21 Ordered a JTR Diesel on 8-12-21 from Peterson's in Nampa id. Vin on 8-13-21.
8-27-2021 Order is in D1 status (schedules for assembly) with an estimated ship date of 09/10/2021
9-9-2021 Jeep chat told me that the vehicle is in the paint stage today. getting closer!
9-13-2021 Jeep chat says the vehicle is in shipping stage. eta for delivery is 09/25/2021- 10/05/2021
Now its time to figure out the logistics of flying out to Nampa to pick it up. Should I book a flight now for 10/06 or wait till we get a little closer to the date?
9-22-2021 I spoke to kent yesterday, he says that the truck has been on a rail and has made it to Utah, so its fairly close to the dealership in idaho, and that it should be ready to go by the end of the month. Flight tickets have been booked for the 6th of next month! almost there
9-27-2021 Kent tells me the truck has arrived at the dealership. I will be there next week to take delivery!
10-07-2021 Arrived and took delivery
Overall my experience with Kent @ Petersons in Nampa was one of the best experiences I've had to date with any dealership. The Pricing is upfront and a hell of a deal. The best offer from any dealership near me in San Diego was sticker price. Petersons gave me almost 8 percent under invoice with a competitive interest rate. We did run into an issue at the very end, when they told me they wouldn't be able to honor jeeps customer cash $1,000 incentive. He said its because tread lightly is gone so it presented some kind of problem. We left the dealership mostly happy but slightly soured feeling like I lost a grand. He ended up calling me back 15 minutes later telling me he got authorization to give me the 1k. So overall I'm very happy now.

Impressions:
Overall, this is the perfect powertrain for this application. Sure I would love the 5.7 Hemi but I would really be missing the MPG we are attaining so far. As we put on miles on the odometer the engine became more efficient. In the first 500 miles we were averaging about 24 MPG, then from 500-1000 we averaged 26 MPG then the last 700 miles of the trip back home we were averaging 29! The Torque is tremendous and will suit the application much better. The tan saddle leather is beautiful and I'm happy we got it. I think one regret is not getting the trail rail option and the aux. switch options, as I will probably end up adding those anyways.
