First post!

I guess I joined Team Hydro yesterday and ordered me up a rubi!

Triple blue in colour and pretty much loaded. I’ve never been known for my patience but I’m so glad that I didn’t settle for one off the lot that wasn’t 100% the one I wanted.

Let the waiting game begin.....

Plastidipped the bumper inserts. Think I got the color pretty close. Blaze blue with blue pearlizer on top

Looks good. Could you please be specific on the product you used? Brand etc.

Also I know very little about plastidipped parts. Is the finnish hard? How long will it last?

glad to help. There are different brands out there, but I used the actual plastidip brand. They sell a lot of colors, but then they also sell “toppings” like the pearlizer, metalizer, and clear coat. To add more confusion, some colors they sell like the luxury metal series add the look without needing an extra can of metalizer. The sky is limit with different hues and mixtures. Some folks have good results with starting with a base of white or black, then adding the color, then a topping. There’s a thread over in the DIY section on the grill that shows a blue that started with a

for the blue inserts, I used the blaze blue with a pearlizer blue topping. It darkened it just slightly to get a closer match.

for the grill I used the luxury metal black, and for the grill inserts, gunmetal grey with the same blue pearlizer.

if it interests you, check out some YouTube videos. My experience shows to start with 2-3 very light coats before going to 2 heavier. The dip will still run so don’t go too heavy.
Here’s a couple pics to see what I used.

my girlfriends hubcaps are dipped black and holding up well after two years. And best part is, you can always peel it off if you don’t like it.

How do you order one with all the options you want? Is there a way to do that directly from Jeep?
