Noted on the AWD version, so looks like might be a good option for some folks.

We live pretty remote in the mountains, so we get a fair amount of snow before we leave for the winter after Christmas with the grandkids. When we get a bad storm, only the jeeps in our family can get up to our house, which is why my wife drives a 23 Rubicon 2 door and has had a wrangler since 2009. I’ve had Jeeps since the early 1980s, so it’s in my blood. I think we are just used to pulling the T-case in and out of 4WD so never considered the AWD T-case.

Interesting note that my Gladiator Rubicon has CV axles and the FAD elimination plate, but I don’t have the AWD transfer case. I thought these items were only with the AWD transfer case or 392. A lot of mixed info out there…

To clarify, the select-trac is not AWD. It just acts like it. It uses a computer-controlled clutch on the front driveshaft, not a center differential like found on most AWD.

The 392 is AWD only, as I understand it. I don't know, maybe someone here can clarify; But I think the 392 uses the same select-trac (4 Auto) transfer case with the 2wd option left out.

My Mojave has select-trac (2wd, 4 Auto, 4 Hi, N, 4 LO) and the CV joints. But also has the FAD installed.

Why your Rubi has the CV joints, no Rock-Trac, and no FAD is a mystery. Sounds like they put a 392 dana 44 on your JTR.

I may purchase a 2025 Gladiator Sport. I am on the fence. I am curious if anyone has any recommendations on what I should consider if I do purchase. The test drive was great and it appeared to be loaded (for the sport). Thanks for any tips.
Hello. I see you are looking at a 2025 Sport. Did you consider a 2024 instead? If you look around, there are still a ton of them out there and if you wait until month-end you should be able to steal one for something fairly well loaded in the mid-upper 30k range.

I got a 2024 Rubicon at the end of January since they were offering 20% off MSRP less the dealer discounts and "end of the month" mentality to get their sales numbers up to certain levels. Although they are now much harder to find, there is still the 20% off MSRP deal through the end of March on Rubicons and Mojaves. Based on your needs and finances, you may find that one of these is only about 5k-7k more than the Sport but there is certainly a lot more you get on those models.

In any case, unless you are ordering a specific 2025 exactly as you want, I personally would look at the 2024's and save as much as 10k or so (money you can keep or put some towards "goodies"). You may have to shop several dealers (some have a lot of 2024's, others have few if any) but it could save you considerable money.

I agree with everything you said, except the 4 Auto part. In the snow country it is perfection. Like AWD. If there is snow on the road, set it and forget it. We LOVE it. It was a $600 option on our 2021 Mojave. Well worth it. And it includes CV joints instead of U joints at the hubs.

As for the ammo comment, Kuddos. I have a fine (gun slinger) wife. She is a Deputy Sheriff.

My wife will call when in town to tell me if there is a deal on 22, 45, 357 Sig, 40SW, 9mm, 10mm, .556 or 308. Asks me if she should get some. My answer is usually Yes depending on the 'deal'.
when I buy ammo, it's 500 or 1000 rounds, I use AmmoSeek

"I am buying" or "I may buy", which is it?

Why do you want a Gladiator?

This above is true and you can also save a lot by doing a factory order ( with your dealer or one of the two on this forum that offer great discounts) per YOUR spec and cut out junk the dealer ordered on it. You will get to watch the build process online. That can also allow you time to shop your trade in around to get the best price, if trading. Worked great for me on my 2nd JT.
The "problem" if you want to call it that, is that typically the best discounts are on in-stock inventory. If you read the fine print on the MSRP discounts and/or low APR financing deals, Stellantis and most other manufacturers usually put the best incentives on inventory sitting on the dealers' lots. Also, many incentives are based on end of the year models or leftover vehicles when there is no option to build an older model.

My most recent purchase was a 2024 leftover Gladiator Rubicon. The one before that was a 2016 JKU that I had to order since I wanted factory half doors (extremely rare, a 4 door with half doors). There were only 2 or 3 sitting on lots nationwide and they were loaded with stuff I didn't want or need. In my case, ordering was the way to go since I wanted a very basic model with the half doors.

So you have to look at the circumstances in each case. I would never have factory ordered a 2025 Rubicon due to the normal price but since I got my leftover for less than 30% below MSRP, I bought the Rubicon.

To each his own.

Consider that Jeep/Stellantis may not survive the next year?
While it’s not impossible for that to happen, the Jeep brand is vastly too valuable for no other parties to fight over what’s left. I only hope it’s not china or any other in that area. How about it Elon? Re-open an American Motors Company? Take the market by storm!

Well being open to the choice of a Sport, or Sport S actually gives you an advantage of buying the very same vehicle underneath all the extras a Rubicon or any other high end Gladiator. I will say the best markdowns are out there, you just need to wait and watch for them. I was able to get a 2024 Sport S with hardtop, automatic, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic warning, all LED lights but headlights, heated seats and wheel, UCONNECT 4 G LTE WIFI hot spot. That we are very satisfied with. The MSRP was $51,400, the markdown was $15,000! So basically what a used one with miles was selling for! The only disappointment are the halogen reflector headlights and fog lights. Other than that with the stock 245/75-17 HT Tires on alloy wheels painted the same color, Chrystal Granite Metallic, not only look fine, but ride fine plus helps me average 17 in city lights and traffic with the ESS engaged, or as high as 23 at a steady 70 mph on flat roads. Good luck!

My wife never really liked my jk wrangler, to rough, rudimentary, etc. but she enjoys driving the JT whenever she gets a chance!
I like it more especially since I got 34% off sticker. It’s a ‘23, purchased last August. Sticker $61K paid $40K plus tax.
Oh and I kept the wrangler!

I love that color!!! Unfortunately, we live pretty remote in the mountains, so lots of dirt road getting up to our property. As a result, we stay with white jeeps after having a black 2009 that always looked dirty.
