Has anyone put another pass thru in the firewall? I have several wires going thru the grommet already and cannot fit another. I need to install a cutoff (solenoid) for my winch, 3 wires, and a GMRS radio, 2 wires and an antenna. I see there is a piece of plastic on the inside of the firewall that I could cut a 1” hole thru and then thru the firewall. Looking to hear from someone who has done this . Thanks for any input.

I routed my GMRS and CB antennas kinda between the windshield frame and body underneath a rubber seal. It did make for more wind noise - but Jeeps are bricks anyway. Here's a few photos.

I put my Disconnect for my winch under the hood beside the battery, That would be a lot of heavy gauge wire routing into your cab of the jeep.

I would think (and hope) he is just talking about the control wires for a electric solenoid.

There is a plastic plug in the firewall near the brake pedal. It is the hole that is used by the clutch for those with a manual transmission. If you have an automatic, it should provide ample room to run all the wire you need.

Mojave, I had a switch similar to yours, but I installed the Genesis dual battery kit and didn’t have the room for that big switch. I bought the Warn solenoid which will fit. The control wires going to the switch inside the cab are small, 18 or 20 gauge, I think., not battery cables. Mr Bill, I have that pass thru full. I have a supplemental brake that consists of six wires and a 1/4” air line, an alarm with two wires, and a remote for my Genesis which is a four wire loom. I could maybe poke one or two wires thru, but not with any connectors. I need to run five wires and an antenna cable through, so I need another avenue. I thank everyone for their input and ideas. I need to check the passenger side again. I was hoping to find another oem grommet or install one below the pass thru.

Fwiw, apparently there is a harness pass-through on the passenger side behind the glove box. However, from the horror stories I’ve read on this forum of folks trying to run additional wires through there, I would stay far away from that temptation. Slight nick in a wire and a whole legion of electrical demons start haunting the computer system.
Sorry I don’t have a simple solution to offer, only a caution of what not to do…

If you have the factory switches, you can wire your GMRS to the switched (or non switched is where I have mine) power lead that's inside the cab. There are 4 power leads for the switches, PLUS a switched and a always on power lead behind the glove compartment...

I've routed a bunch of smaller through the windshield/door jamb, definitely the easiest way to go imo.

Also used the drain plug under the passenger seat to route in the arb twin harness.

All of my wires have gone the cowl route, both passengers and drivers side. Ham radio power on the passengers side, 2 sets of red emergency lights (14 GA power and ground) and the VOSwitch on the drivers side.

Drop the windshield part way. I have a big foam block I use to support the windshield. Pull the cowl covers, the speaker grilles and the speakers. You now have access to pull wires up from under the dash to the area that goes under the windshield.
