I wrote a script to detect pricing as soon as posted

Like many of your I've been obsessing over the pricing being posted, because I'm guessing that is also when order date information will be posted. Not wanting to miss a second of it, I wrote a PERL script that monitor's the Jeep.com site and looks for pricing information for the gladiator and notifies me by text message as soon as it finds the price.
Needless to say I will post pricing here as soon as I have an update. But for those of you looking for proof here's a quick video of my script running you can check my video below:



Now it's very possible they will change some formatting on the site that will screw up my script. Or they won't post it to the front page ... but this is all I could come up with.

Yeah, I looked through the whole site. Didn't find a single hint. I gotta say that's a lot of work to keep pricing secret.

They have a weird marketing strategy, they want people to get sick of waiting and go with competitor like dryfly did when he purchased his taco.

That's a shit strategy. I own another car where the manufacturer did that and failed miserably. As a result no one ended up buying it and I saved a ton of money off MSRP. About enough to buy a new Ruby.

I wouldn’t say mad. Irritated is a better word IMO. The JT had a full debut at the LA Auto Show over 4 months ago. Additionally, press corps have been provided JT are driving them around as we speak. The press embargo ends 3/31 and folks would like to know pricing by then. Jeep has released all the specs and available packages. We have been able to build the JT we want on the Jeep website for over a month, so yes, time to roll out pricing.
