Hey, My dealer isn't able to order this until June 24th, so i'd be surprised if anyone that wasn't a retailer already had one for personal use. Unless there was a first round that I missed.

Now thatā€™s a nice looking hard tonneau cover. First time I have seen one. Hey @Bobs85Reny do you think you can work some of your photoshop magic on this Gladiator pictured? Just needs to have the base Sport model black rims and black fenders. Silver is the color I would go with when and if I decide to get one. Muchas gracias. And I mean very mucho. Thanks

I wanted to revive this thread. I am starting to shop for the cover I will buy. I talked to BakFlip and they are still in development. Undercover Flex has theirs out and I have one on my Power Wagon now and like it. I looked at the directions for the Mopar hard cover and I like the way it mounts. I did not see any way to stand the 3 panels up like the Bak and Undercover ones. I do use this feature enough that I would have to have it. I like the way the Mopar cover attaches to existing threaded holes though and doesn't require the annoying clamps.

Anybody have the Mopar cover that can shed a little light on this? Maybe some photos of it open?

Thanks

There is a post on another thread somewhere - I canā€™t remember who it is but someone does have one.

Let me see if I can find it.

I do like that the bakflip covers are within the inner boundaries of the bed - and the upper sides of the bed would be left free for something like an expedition rack... so possibly compatible...

@lhart901 see here for a PDF file of the installation instructions for the hard folding tonneau cover. Sorry no non stock picture but the PDF of the installation instructions may help to answer your questions. I read it and it looks like you should be able to open it up from either ends but I donā€™t see how you can open it up from the front end. In fact I think the front end may be bolted shut. I would also love see some non stock pictures of this hard folding tonneau cover or a video of it if anyone has that.

Here is the hard trifold cover. I donā€™t think I have seen any real world pictures yet. Just this.

So I might have mixed it up, there are some pictures in this thread of the soft tri fold - which I have to imagine is identical to the hard except for the tops:

Notice how the mopar tonneau goes over the bed entirely...
Yea, I looked around quite a bit. There was at least one other thread where someone had the mopar unit and said they would post pictures but never did.

I looked over the instructions. It looks almost exactly like the BakFlip and Undercover. Neither of which you can access from the front without folding up from the rear. I came to the conclusion that they just meant you could open it all the way up to get to the front of the bed and not that you could access the front separately

The only tonneau that I've found that allows access from the front directly is the Extang Encore Tonno. https://extang.com/encore-tonno
I reached out to Extang and they said that there are no plans to make that cover for the Gladiator. However, they do make it for the 2019 Chevy Colorado with a 5' bed. There are reports of other Colorado Tonneaus allegedly fitting the Gladiator.

None of the tonneau's we are seeing that fit the Gladiator have a feature like that. It's as you say, you'd have to roll up or fold up all the way to have "full" or "front" bed access.

I looked at this style but I have really gotten used to being able to stand up the folded sections to have almost the whole bed.

Hello @JeepCares can you please tell us how we can open up the Jeep/Mopar hard folding tonneau cover from the front of the truck? The Mopar site says and I quote:

The front panel also opens for easy access to cargo stored in the front of the bed. Sturdy, flush mount locks (front and rear) secures both tailgate and cover.

End quote

Look at the instructions section 4.2 and it looks like the front end is bolted down. So how do we unlock it from the front and then open it from the front? Can you please post a video of this? And please confirm that this can be installed on a Gladiator that does not have the trail rail system. Thanks much.

Hi Jake,
We have reached out internally to see if we can receive any additional information or resources regarding this. Your dealer may be able to offer a better explanation if they have one in stock as well.

Thanks Alex @JeepCares. I just left the dealership. They pulled the one they have out of the box. And we looked at all of the parts and we looked at the detailed instructions and they also donā€™t know how it can open from the front like it says on the Mopar site. We both scratch our heads trying to figure this out. They have it on hold for me to buy as soon as someone can tell me how it can open from the front. And as I stated earlier the front end gets bolted down. So how can you open something up when it is bolted down? Love to know. Thanks
