Coming from a fiberglass Cap with a carpet liner.....
I noticed the inside of a SmartCap is just metal. Anyone insulate or otherwise "coat" the interior?
Needed?

I am thinkining of using some polyisocyanurate foam and wrapping it in some kind of cloth that looks and functions correctly.

You can use contact cement to glue the cloth to the foam.

Then some good 3m 2 sided tape.

I'm getting my smart cap in hopefully soon. I'll update this as I progress.

It should happen pretty quick because I want to put the insulation panel onto the roof section before assembly.

Just as an update to this. I never insulated the roof. I was doing it mostly to reduce interior heat from the sun.

I applied a white wrap to the top panel of the topper before I assembled it. This was cheap (about $100) and quick (about an hour) so I thought I'd try this first.

It's worked beyond my wildest expectations. So I haven't bothered with insulation.
I haul my dog around in the back of my truck, and in the winter have put an insulated cover over my Ruff Land kennel to help keep him warm.
