Maybe this is a thing and I just don’t know; maybe the guy building did it before his morning coffee or hitting quota to leave. Is the rear view mirror mounted upside down? Other none Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge vehicles has had the longer part of the trapezoid on the bottom. The picture for rear dimmer on the control screen has the long part on the bottom. The actual mirror...

They don’t block as much windshield when flipped. I have my JK mirror flipped.

Solved the mystery of the mirror. It was not installed upside down. Everyone at the dealership wasn’t sure. Walked the line of Gladiators and Wranglers. If the Jeep has an auto dimmer they were all that way. Any mirrors with the manual dimmer, the little lever on the back, the long edge was on the bottom.

Actually, I think it was. I was trying to figure out a way to raise it because it blocked my vision. I popped the mount out and flipped the mirror over. It now sits higher and looks correct. The top mount was a pain to reinstall, you need to twist it in.

Jeep finally listened to the wrangler owners. This was seriously probably one of the first "mods' anyone did with a wrangler...at least back to the TJ era, and likely before that!

It's the right way for a rearview mirror to be placed in a Jeep

The title almost made me wonder about some twilight zone thing - you were in the mirror looking out or something............. or that it showed what was under you. Must have been a long day - time for sleep.

I have no issues with the mirror. Probably the last mod I'd think of doing.

I have owned a lot worse. This one really isn't bad at all.

Do you care to elaborate on how to remove the drop down mount for the manual mirror?
The factory design is dangerously low for a tall person. It completely blocks out traffic at intersections for me!
I’m going to switch to a “glue on” replacement.
That, or just cut 2 inches off the drop down stem, and glue it back together.

I padded the mirror mount stem then gently turned it to remove then flipped mirror and stuck back in it's held in key way slots only needs a 1/4 in turn about. I padded due to I used long handle Channel Locks pliers. When you get it done you be thinking dang that easy. It doesn't take a lot of force to unlatch it.
