iPhone cable that allows media port Cover to be flush

Hey all - thought I would post an update. I was trying to find a smartphone cable that allows a finished look and close the media port cover. Yes, I'm a little weird. I found this cable on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7GCQVC6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

I will attach pics but just wanted to try it out. I plan on routing behind the dash up to my new bulletpoint mount that I will be installing. Looks good. The lead that plugs into the dash has a flat leader on it that allows the cover to close flush. If I ever upgrade to an iPhone 15 or android I will not need the adapter . Hopefully this helps someone.

Heh, not weird. I ripped off the cover because I couldn't stand it being open all the time

Not a bad solution...I personally use both ports, so it wouldn't work, but just dropping a note that you're not alone.

Good find but you now have the long cable to deal with. Have you thought about a blue tooth usb dongle? Much cleaner install.

Quadlock makes one you can connect in the center console that’ll give you wireless CarPlay.

Great find! I HATE that the damn cover is always open and was also thinking about just removing it. I've never even thought of looking for something like this and just ordered one. It's also great that they come in 3 lengths, got the 3.3ft.

Does it work well from center console? I have tried with a cable and it is flakey and works sometime and other times craps out.

I haven’t used it a whole lot but both times it functioned properly.

You can get them in 1 foot and 3 foot lengths, just pick the one you want.

My center console port works great for both wired and for my wireless CarPlay adapter.

I put a console safe in my armrest, it's nice to have even a little secure storage since our trucks are so easy to burglarize.
