I read that the Alpine sub is located behind the back passenger seat, but I don’t see it on my Mojave, which should come with it standard. All I see is a fake vent mesh. Is this the correct location? Are there other ways to find out whether I actually have the Alpine system?

You definitely have the alpine system, if what you're asking is "did they forget to install my sub?" then the only answers are either physically see it between the vent mesh or feel it. Put on a bass heavy song and touch the vent mesh. Is is vibrating like there's a sub?

The sub we get doesnt look like a custom sub install. It is the center section

lift up the seat and look underneath against the back wall. Should see the sub staring back at you there! That fake/mesh thing you have in the picture is where the "removable" optional bluetooth spearer sits and charges for those that have that option.

This is incorrect, the Bluetooth speaker is on the passenger side and replaces the behind-rear-seat storage bin. The sub is the in the center behind that mesh panel.

Opps! yeah, you are right on that! My point is I think you have to look under the seat to see the actual speaker.

Yeah, it's easier to see it through the lower hex mesh, but it's still behind the one I circled. I'm pretty impressed, it's not the cheap tinny speaker most OE "subs" are - the one we get is substantial.

It's more of a 'subwoofer shaped object' than a sub....

I don't have any complaints. My last car's sub was half the size and under the driver's seat. This stereo is way better.

The best you know is the best there is, I guess.

The JT one does pretty decent, all things considered. The small cabin certainly helps, and the factory EQ/DSP tuning seems to do a decent job of getting good output from what’s there. That said, I did a 10” sub and 800w to replace it ?
