I tried my brights for the first time today. They flash for not even a full second and then shut off. Is this how they're supposed to work?

to clarify: when the lever is pushed forward, nothing happens. When the lever is pulled it flashes for a millisecond and turns off, holding it in either position does nothing.

Push the stalk forward and they will stay on. You are just using the flash feature, pulling the stalk towards you. The owners manual is a great read.

Nope. That's how all of my other vehicles worked, but when pushed forward it actually doesn't do anything.

It takes a fair push to get it to "latch" in high beam.
I'm so used our other vehicles, my Eagle, WJ and others where you pull back for high, pull back again for dim, pull back again for high and so on.
Some you simply push it forward and it's a fair amount of travel and it STAYS forward until you pull it back. The lever is either forward or it's back.
The JT is a very different animal - but it's the direction they are going as the Compass I drove as a loaner was also like the JT.

I do this all the time. Some vehicles old school you pulled it towards you for brights newer models you push away.

No, and neither are we. It's all one big computer simulation. Nothing and no one exists.

lol, I know it sounds stupid, but they legitimately do not work. Well, I've found now, at least while driving. It works fine when I'm parked, but while driving the most it will do is a millisecond flash in either direction.
