Received an email from Jeep to complete a market survey on 2 future product considerations to be added to Wrangler.

“Turn Assist” or 4-wheel steering.

I honestly would love the idea of Turn Assist (locking a rear wheel) to be added to the JL’s. No more having to do 3 point turns in the woods. 😂

Thanks Ford and GM (Hummer EV) for creating competition.

Rear wheel lock seems like an easy add as it can likely be done primarily with software ...

4 wheel steering ? Meh ... Sounds great, expensive, costly to troubleshoot ... Would be neat ...

They just mastered 2 wheel steering from my perspective ... (Had to say it) ... Funny but maybe a smidge o truth ...

My main enjoyment with off roading are the challenges associated with the journey. Where is the line that we cross when we go to so many technology advancements that the journey is no longer a challenge?...when we cross that line...it is now all about the destination...might as well fly.

At the very least, off roading becomes an amusement park ride...don't cross the line!

I think off-road turn assist would be a great addition for a longer off-roader, like the Gladiator. The 4 wheel turn seems like too much complication vs usefulness.

An extended gas tank would be more useful to a lot of overlanders and towers.

Back in the early 1970s we had a vehicle called an M274 Mule in the Army - it had 4-wheel steering that we could engage or not. I don't recall anyone actually using it.

Personally, too many electronically/computer controlled gadgets already.

I would rather see them go the other way and get away from digital and return to analog.

Also the same vehicle, but it is awesome either way. Would help get this truck back into the range of the rest of the mid-size market because the turning radius is the only compliant I have on the truck. Best part is it's a 100% software fix so not adding anything else to break.

Often see big truck cranes with multi-wheel steering; they often have many axles.

Umm... Rivian has this figured out pretty good...

as a reservation holder on the R1S, they sent out a video demonstrating more in depth what this does and it’s only possible with an electric drivetrain.
