They could have offered a V8 option for the engine and it would be case closed.

It's interesting that Jeep is using it's- so far -concept only V8 engine as a differentiator.

Without a doubt, the new Bronco is cool. Way cool. And no doubt Ford will sell a LOT of them. And likely, just like with most Jeeps, most Broncos will never leave the pavement.

I recently saw a video of some Broncos on the Rubicon trail. It appeared some Ford personnel were doing it for future promotion or to perhaps learn a few things. (At least one Bronco had a Michigan Manufacturer license plate.) Some people on the trail shot some amateur video and released it online. The Broncos did OK on the trail. But you could see the problems with IFS: one front wheel was often in the air. And someone took a photo of the Broncos at the hotel parking lot after the tail. They were WAY beat up.

All in all, this is a very exciting time for off-road/4x4 enthusiasts. Keep it coming, Ford! Keep it coming, Jeep! It's all good.

But will the Bronco hold its value like the wranglers and hopefully the gladiators do?

I was going to get the Bronco, before I bought the Gladiator. I even had a deposit for the Badlands version. I watched all the videos of them crawling on the Rubicon and at Moab. They did really well. They were beat up, but they have been test mules for the past year. I don't think the Rubicon did all the damage them. They are everything the 4Runner should be. Plus that V6 is a monster.

It will be a good vehicle and I think it will hold its value. This segment is really popular right now.

EB 2.7 is as good as a V8 maybe better as it can have big power increases with just a tune. My neighbor has the 2.7 in a F150 and it moves, be awesome in a Bronco.
