So I have ran through one whole tank of gas so far and I am getting 18.5MPG... this is 100% city driving.
Not bad so far, i think ill be able to get 19 - 20 once i get some more miles on it.

Great thread. While I am still all in on the JT (once my color opens up) and yes I know I am not buying it for MPG, however I have been looking forward to hearing real world results.

curious, you said it was all city driving, are you using the ESS?

Yes I have kept the ESS on so far. It hasn't been an issue for me, works well.

I am curious if there will be any difference in MPG between sport / rubicon models.

If same gear/trans, I'd think they'd be within .5mpg of each other.

Not bad considering my 2017 Renegade Trailhawk only gets that in the city (but 27 if all highway at 72 mph).

I just finished my second tank. Both manual calculation and on-board computer registered 15.8 MPG. I'm pretty light on the gas, so i'm surprised to hear someone got 18.5. I have stock Rubicon.

Auto I assume. City or HWY? Are you using ESS? Mud or A/Ts?

Has anyone tried doing a mpg test with the tailgate down? Less wind drag so might save a few mpgs

That has already been debunked. tailgate creates an air pocket, not a sail.

Ran through another tank. 16.5 MPG, manually calculated. I had about 80 miles of 55 mph highway on this tank. During that stretch, MPG according to the computer was about 19. I am not heavy on the pedal, but i do live in a fairly hilly area. My 2010 Nissan Frontier crew cab 4wd got about 17, so this is pretty similar.
