I was washing my jeep today, and saw something on the roof that troubled me to no end!
Anyone else seeing this in their clear coat?

What is this? Inside of hardtop or paint on hardtop?

Something like this happened to my black 2018 JL. The idiots next door were spray painting something white and drifted on my JL. I had to clay bar the whole thing.

Do you got spray in bed liner if so it could be over spray from that. I had some on mine, Hendricks took care of it when I pointed it out.

So Sting grey, roof, passenger side, rear, yes to spray on bed-liner (factory), but was not there originally.
Oh, and external, in the clear coat.

Is it smooth or raised a little bit? If it's raised it kinda looks like a run in the clear coat? If it's smooth it looks like a run in the clear coat that someone tried razor blading out without trying to buff it afterwards? What are all the little blacl specs? Try some cleaner wax on those or even some rubbing compound with a little elbow grease.

I probably will not try to wax/buffing compound it out. There is also a much larger, and similar bubble in the clear up towards the middle of the roof. This will end up being a warranty issue, just kind of sucks,
More than anything else, wanted to give the community a heads up.
Edit:
The larger spot in the clear is pitted, and when I zoom in on my phone, you can see pits in the smaller areas in the photo.

Looks like rail dust, from being transported on a train.

It may be rail dust ?
But doubtful. As I said, it was not there previously, since I have been rather anal about cleaning my Jeep (abnormal pride) and have been using Chemical Guys with the Jeep and the wifes GMC, as well as father-in-laws Merc. All have done well, with the roof of my Jeep being the only issue.

The top of my left front fender looks like that, but it is pits in the clearcoat. Like it got sprayed with acid drops. Luckily for me, I paid the $600 for the ceramic protection from the dealer. It will go back soon for the 3K oil change, that protectant had a guarantee on it. So someone is paying to fix the clearcoat.

Yeah...
I do not need to be worried, I am less than 8K in to my warranty.
So @JeepCares, here I come.....

Do your neighbors, or co-workers have any similar damage to the paint finish on their cars?
Are there any heavy industries close to your home or where you park your Jeep at work?
The reason I ask is there is a petroleum refinery in my area that belches out some crap every few years, and screws up car paint on vehicles that are in any down wind neighborhoods. The refinery always pays to take car of it when it happens.
Just a thought.

That sucks. Back to the dealer, see if they can help you out. Unacceptable. Best of luck, and please keep us posted.
