Does anyone have experience with the Voodoo mid height rack and mount brackets made to be used with a tonneau cover? I did see one other member report a while back that it damaged the bed of their Gladiator, but it appears that they've redesigned the bed mount brackets going from a single-bolt design to a two-bolt design. I found someone local selling their Voodoo Max Modular 14" steel rack without mount brackets, so I'd be buying the latest version of their brackets to work with my Mopar Tonneau cover and mounting a RTT on it. Just want to see if anyone has any recent experience with it.

I have the 10" aluminum with the single bolt tonneau brackets. Installed it March of last year. I installed a RTT back in May of last year. Also have a Fuelpax 4.5 gal and Maxtrax (2 sets) mounted on the rack. I have had no issues with it. Even did a 5500-mile trip back in September and completed 14 Badge of Honor trails (1 MT, 1 WY, 6 UT, 3 CO, 3 AZ). I have just designed some custom brackets for mounting a 270 awning that are currently getting made.

Do you have the steel or aluminum rack? Do you leave it on all the time, or remove it when you're not using the RTT? I think whatever I end up with will only stay installed about 25% of the time, so something easy to install/remove would be ideal. Billiebars might be what I end up with, I just hate spending $600 on 2 bars and 4 brackets.......

Aluminum.

I have left it on all the time. Originally, I was planning to remove especially during the winter months but have not. Before I put the RTT on it was pretty quick to take off and on which I did have to do later to install my molle panel and fridge mount. Though I do like it being there all the time for those last-minute getaways for the night or weekend. I have photos on my Instagram: good__chauncey (it is a double underscore)

I have the steel rack. I took the 4 brackets an added 3” of height to all of them. Now the cover rolls up perfectly under the cross bars. I’m sure I compromised some engineering but they are definitely strong enough for my RTT.

I would reach out to them and check...they have been pretty responsive to my questions in the past.

You can mount the KBVooDoo rack without tonneau brackets with certain tonneaus that mount entirely inside the bed rails. I did exactly that with the Access Literider tonneau. I can roll my tonneau all the way to the front of the bed, as well. I have the 18” rack but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with the 14” version. I actually went with the 18” since I figured I could make it work without the tonneau brackets.
