anybody watch this yet? I'm seriously considering the decked system. I'm wondering if Leitner will be compatible with it. I liked what this guy said when he was talking about the rack actually holding the cargo inside the bed. Sure you would only be able to haul 7" of plywood above the deck and below the bed rails, but with a Leitner rack addition, you'll have a ton of verticle capacity. What do you guys think?
Wow this was fast. Emailed at 10:05 California time, got an email back at 10:16. "Absolutely. All of our ACS units are Decked compatible!! Leitner Designs sales team 587 N. Smith ave Corona, CA 92880"
And a follow email later, " Should be done next week! Leitner Designs sales team 587 North Smith Avenue Unit A Corona CA 92880 949-395-3049" I've asked the sales contact to email me whenever their page/video/info is ready for CONSUMPTION! Super cool! This is the rack that I saw on google on the tacoma like a year ago and I thought, That's a cool rack, wonder if they'll have one for the JT. Answer, yes, soon!
I love both the decked drawers and the leitner designs rack. I've had those on my little research list for a bit - i'm just torn about it being all open... I feel like I'd love something similar, but with the bed enclosed.. ? I think...
yea... I have a lot of thinking and designing to do. Right now my vision is a custom topper, like an ARE or leer... probably commercial, but color matched (well bright white is easy). I'm also imagining that the commercials will hold more weight? (maybe, that's conjecture). In particular, I think I want this on one of the two sides:, where there is some separate storage, not leading you right into the bed. And then, not the decked drawers, but a slider like bedslide. Whoa, check this out:
if this was an overland only thing I could see this setup, but I want to be able to throw a garbage can or scooter in the back. With the leitner, I could slide the bars forward and do that, with an enclosed topper I couldn't. hmmm. Maybe bestop soft topper will fit inside leitner, plus the decked setup. lol, so much stuff.
