Just installed the LoD Destroyer rear bumper and it went together really easily. I am however having issues installing the bed skids with the instructions provided and wondered if anyone else has had a similar issue. Not sure if the instructions provided are for a different model of Gladiator, but they do not work for a Rubicon model with factory tow package.

The instructions are as follows:

Reality is that there is not a hole with access like that on the hitch bracket as you can see below:

Hoping someone else, or @Lod Offroad can chime in on how best to finish the install.

Looks a little different. Maybe they added that tube spacer? You might need to get a longer bolt and feed it thru that spacer.

I remembered my install wasn’t verbatim from the instructions but still pretty easy.

I’ll try to get under the truck tomorrow if the rains stops. Otherwise it’ll be Saturday.

If you don’t hear from me, tag me and remind me.

I think the OEM Rubicon rear hitch assembly is different than all the others due to the included welded-in pipe spacer (circled above) that I believe helps strengthen the mounting point of the OEM bed rock rails to the hitch assembly. I noticed the same thing when I pulled the steel rear bumper and bed rock rails from a rubicon and installed them on my sport s.

Yeah, that could be. Surprises me a bit that LoD wasn't aware of that after this length of time. Especially with this being a factory build vehicle.

I'm sure it's just an uncommon scenario that someone with a Rubicon and factory bed rock rails would spend the time and effort to swap them for some aftermarket ones.

Here is what I did to resolve my issue:

I used the lower bolt from the factory bed skids. Added a couple of fender washers, one 1.25" one and one around .5" both for a M12 bolt size. Added a new nut.
