Previous was 8 hours (480 miles) to Fort Wayne.
We'll be heading to Colorado Springs next week - 760 miles, about 12 hours.
Any tips or tricks?
(besides a lot of caffeine, etc., that is) My wife likes to go straight through, go and keep going, especially coming home, so she'll make sure that truck stops only for fuel and use only for, well, you know.
The truck has performed very well so far and with the steering fixed, hopefully it will be very uneventful.
Have thought about having it detailed before the trip but that's likely more vanity than anything else.

I bought Super-Duper at Motor Inn @ Spirit Lake Iowa and drove it home by way of Madison, Wi, Tupelo and Biloxi, Ms. to Fort Lauderdale. That one was 2200 miles.

Super-Duper 2 just did a round trip from Fort Lauderdale to Charlottesville, Va and back. 1950+ miles.
Week after next, going on a Fort Lauderdale-Tupelo,Ms-Madison,Wi-Nashville,Tn- Fort Lauderdale trip. This will be about 3500 miles all-in.

audio books work good for me, keeps my brain engaged enough to not get tired but not enough to be distracting while driving. A good story makes the trip go by quick

good action stories, or scifi is pretty good, any thing serious or heavy will be sleeper.

Scary stories on YouTube usually do the trick for me. I will be making that same trip from IL in a couple of weeks. The best advice I can give is make the wife drive through Kansas while you sleep.

My wife likes to drive on long runs so that's not a problem.
Google says go through Nebraska. That's a crazy boring trip for sure.
I went to Denver in 1980 with first wife for honeymoon - went there via KC and through Kansas, came back through Nebraska. She took over and got a hefty speeding ticket - NE was so flat and boring it was hard to tell how fast you were going and my AMX cruised so nice at speed.

Anyway, Google says NE is shorter path by about 3/4 hour - depending on the time of day you ask LOL - it was 3/4 hour last night and showed more construction.
Haven't asked the JT's GPS to see what path it would choose.
My wife and I have totally different tastes in music and books so likely it will be radio off most of the way. (unless I do bluetooth from my phone to hearing aids LOL)

We took the JTR from Jackson MI to my daughter in Aiken SC this spring. About 800 miles and 13 hours each way. I am overly impressed with how the JTR drives and rides. I will be making a business trip from Jackson MI to Minot ND in the next month. I am hoping to dip down to South Dakota on my way back and maybe visit the Badlands National park. I have not traveled out west before so putting my eyes on some fresh cool sights would be awesome.

Wasn’t my JT, but this lady I know took hers on a trip to a very exclusive, very off-road, off-roading park. I don’t think she did a round-trip, but point-to-point she said it was something like 238,900 miles.

From the way she tells it, she was able to cover the distance in a single fill-up—she just got a whole mess of acceleration at the start, then basically hyper-miled the rest by just coasting.

I thought the story was BS, but she had pics:

Edit: it was a work trip

I’ve got a 4.5 hour drive from Houston area to Baton Rouge coming up, basically all I-10. The construction and destroyed roads between Orange, TX and Lafayette, LA should be a good test for the Jeep’s comfort. I also expect about 24 mpg round trip.

I got to make that trip with my dad and a friend once in a standard cab 1990 Dodge Truck back in the pre-XM radio days. The selection of music driving through the bible belt was...limited. It made for some boring travel on the I70. I am hoping the I80 way is better, but I got a feeling that I am going to be disappointed.

We've done a few longer stretches as a family of 5. Almost 2000 miles in 2 weeks running back and forth between a few states during a vacation. Best advice I can give is use the recirculate AC button after getting on the highway, and leave the temp on LO at least on the males side. Super comfy ride on a pretty modified rig. I stayed around 70-72mph and usually get 20.5mpg.
