someone recently posted a phone holder that uses the left bolt of the passenger grab rail.
I tried to find it but wasn’t able to.

Does none know what I’m talking about?

Close but not quite.
It actually used the left bolt that holds the passenger handle in place.

That actually is the one that uses the bolt. I posted the amazon link, too, but the eBay deal seems better.

Made a mobile phone mount...see below for pictures of all the parts used (not posting in correct order).

Basically I trimmed down the PanaVise phone mount (all the dremel jacked up parts below)...final clean trim using new razor blade to get perfectly smooth backside. Then drilled to it bolt it together with the CB microphone mount that bolts to dash behind dash grab handle.

You need interior trim tools to pop off the dash panels and a socket wrench to install it. Look up the JL dash removal videos to see how to pop off panels.

It sits up high and has perfect driver visibility. Either a 18” cord plugged into dash or a 24”+ cord plugged center console can reach it.

It sort-of blocks the passenger left side A/C vent. But the phone does not overheat in direct sunlight (if A/C is on) which is an issue here in SoCal with leaving your phone in direct sunlight.

Around $35 plus my labor...idea credit for mic holder goes to JL Wrangler forum. All parts from Amazon.

What I use is a magnetic mount. You just need to mount it near the ac and it would magnet on your phone. Maybe you can try that.
