Well had to make an emergency family trip to South Louisiana this weekend. I always dread going there in my truck. Sure enough, today coming back to Texas I had another windshield smashed by big rock thrown from some ahole towing his backhoe on a trailer doing about 100 miles an hour over bumps, etc which unleashed a barrage of rocks on everyone. This is the second windshield I have gotten damaged in almost this same manner in Louisiana.

Most of my driving is on Louisiana interstates, can confirm it sucks.

Avoid trailers like the plague, hell surface streets as well.

He must have had the trailer and machinery in some mess and not cleaned it off. Hit bump at high speed and things started flying. If others didn't get hit would be amazing

Once had, what I assume was a big chunk of concrete, appear out of nowhere and put a 6" dent in my hood. When the suv in front of me switched lanes... Sure enough, Fn trailer with chains sitting loose on it. All the concrete already bounced out so could never be sure it was them.

I’ve had a crack in my windshield since June 2021 that has grown horizontally to cover the entire driver side…

I named it the Continental Divide

Why not fix it?

Mostly because it doesn’t bother me. It’ll also just piss me off if another rock hits the new windshield. I don’t care if rocks hit this one though because it’s already jacked up.

In other words I’m kind of a nut lol

Don't visit AZ - rocks just jump around here aimlessly, trailers or not. I'm on my third windshield in 2 years.
My jeep has seen more rocks to the windshield than it has oil changes. This last one was finally bad enough I need to replace it now but cracks are just a way of life out here.

I did a self repair kit yesterday as soon as I got home. Hope I caught it before is streaks. I had to use 2 kits to cover the big star it put. Only saving thing is its toward the bottom of the drivers side so its not affecting my driving at this time unless it starts to streak out
