Manual transmission delivery delay

I ordered an Overland with manual transmission on October 25; originally scheduled for November 17 ship date. After several stories, was informed today won’t be built until March - Jeep is holding manual transmission builds!!! Not impressed...

Apparently there are not enough manual tranny orders - Jeep is waiting for a certain number of orders - they didn’t specify what that number was. An additional dellay is caused by the 8.4 inch screen with manual transmission - go figure.

You've got them scratching their heads trying to figure out why someone would want an Overland with a manual transmission. It's going to take them a while to sort it out.

Uh my order was placed on 11/11, although I walked into the dealership on 10/22 and ordered, but anyways. I got a manual trans in my base sport delivered yesterday. Hmmmmm. Must say I like the way it shifts although I need to relearn takeoffs as I’m not getting the clutch to throttle ratio correct 90% of the time. Heh. And it didn’t help I was in 3rd gear in one of those cases. Hahahahha.

The first manual that I test drove was an Overland. That was in September. Bought a Sport S 6 speed on 9/30. I,too, had to get used to the clutch let off. A little different from the 20+ manuals I’ve had before. But that didn’t take long. LOVING IT!

I ordered sport MT on 7/27 ain't got it yet, supposably was put on train 12/8, I also have gotten stories,not impressed but pissed

Ordered my manual overland 9/15 and got It 10/27, they said the trac-lok delayed it slightly but sorry to hear it’s taking so long for you

That's what I have. Ordered Sep 20th, received about five weeks later. Glad I ducked that delay.

Sounds like you cut it close. I tried to order a Gobi manual the last week of September and was told that Jeep was temporarily not taking orders for MT. Lucked out and found a Stingray MT equipped just like I wanted a little over 200 miles north of me. Snatched it up!

This stinks. I'm planning to order/purchase an MT Overlander late this year/early next year.
Has Jeep started taking MT orders again?

I have the same configuration -- ordered 3 days after you -- been in D status for a while now.

Is there any magic words that you used to get the additional details on the delay? If they aren't going to build until March, then will likely be end of March / April for delivery. Down to one vehicle now unfortunately, so may have to come up with different plans.

Where did you hear of this delay? I have a MT overland on order since 11/22, if it's going to be March/April that isn't going to work for me.

I heard of this delay from the dealer - dealer computer shows my order with VIN, ship date of November, but no explanation. The delay is combination of 8.4 inch screen on radio, and manual transmission. If MT is ordered with 8.4 inch now, warning comes up saying not until next allotment. We should all push FCA/Jeep for better service.

I was told after about 4 months it was because I wanted anti slip with Manuel and they were having problems with that combo, cancelled the AS and think it will be here this weekend, maybe,it's been a cluster from the beginning 6.5 months
