You could always park it next to a cliff in neutral with the parking brake off.

I’d get out first.

All good suggestions but this turd deserves a fiery death. Will be sure to get out and fill up first.

Wasn't some guy on here complaining about the heat warning sticker on his floorboard, hidden under the carpet? Can't remember if he had an MT. It occasionally blows hot air immediately out of the HVAC. We've got a desert edition and a winter edition. I'd pay the hell more attention than usual to indicators. This thing may just be close to tolerance in general....

out of curiosity what do you dislike about it? I’ve test driven a few times and would have already ordered a M/T if not for the hold. The test drives were all short and seemed fine but you can only tell so much going around the block.

Just an FYI jeep just called and told me they will not be building my 2020 manual gladiator i ordered. They aren’t sure when production will (if) production will resume. Soooo if you want a stick find one on a lot now!!
Of course not. The 2020 order window is closing since 2021s will be produced soon... and usually they stop work on the less common/custom orders, first. This is common practice, and your headline is INCREDIBLY misleading. Manuals aren't dead.

Yah, I've yet to hear anyone sing the praises of the stick beyond the fanbois that will deem it superior no matter what. Bummer that it isn't stronger, I'd love to go w/ a Mojave stick but not if it runs like crap.
Apparent "fanboi" here (who has had both manual and auto Jeeps). This manual doesn't run like crap. But sorry you're hurt about it and/or settled for an auto and regret it.

Wish the tow rating was over 4,000lbs, but I’m still getting a manual if I can... but i want my wife to drive it if she wishes... but I want a manual... but the tow rating is only 4,000lbs... this is argument I’ve been having in my head since I decided I need a gladiator.

I guess ultimately, an automatic rubi can tow 7,000lbs and my wife can drive it. I’ve had a manual before, it was a pain when life called on her to drive me or borrow the car, but she just couldn’t.

My last internal argument was ā€œI want a wrangler, but a truck is so much more useful, but the Jeep can go more places, but the lack of space, a truck would be nice, but I want a wranglerā€. So I guess it is getting better.

Just teach her. It took my boy an afternoon to learn a stick confidently enough to drive in traffic. The low first gear makes it less likely to stall than most and you can flip on hill assist for her.

I tried with my last manual, she just thought she’d break something. We’ll see. I have the best wife in the world, so maybe she’d consider learning. Then again, that tow rating... :headbang:

I'll summarize the complaints posted so far.

6. Gear range is too broad. Can't row through all the gears before the next red light.

5. 1st is too low (if you never crawl, you'll never appreciate it.)

4. 6th is too high. You gotta do like 75 mph to use it effectively (BTW, 8th on the automatic is higher.)

3. When cruising in 5th or 6th, when you come to a hill you might have to downshift (even though the auto shifts up and down incessantly.)

2. Can't tow all of your possessions behind you.

And the number one complaint:

1. IT DOESN'T SHIFT FOR YOU

You are correct that the order window for 2020s must close some months before 2021's come out. However, it seems the reason at this time is not that, but a recall. See post #107, this thread.
