I spent the weekend installing a complete onboard air system on the gladiator. Here’s a list of the parts I used:
Maximus-3 compressor and tank mount
Viair 425 gen 2 dual compressors
Viair 2.5 gallon 200 psi tank
Up-down air tire inflation system
Kleinn JL220 air horn kit

The actual air system mount took a couple of hours to get setup and installed. The install does not require any drilling and is very straight forward. The rear of the mount bolts to a bracket that gets added to a frame crossmember and the front sets on top of the t-cast skid. It’s a tight fit, but I don’t think there will be any problems. Maximus-3 did send me a heat shield for the exhaust that I will be installing soon also.

Give joe a call at Maximus-3. They’re thinking about changing the direction that the compressors mount on the skid, but I think they have a few of this design

Just curious... why not run the pumps length ways with the truck. Seems like they could have taken advantage of the extra room length ways and not have the intake/s hanging out. That and all wire would be captured inside the belly pan.

I believe the next version will have them mounted that way.

Thanks,

They will have my money soon enough if they do, was my only complaint with the design layout. Save me the time from fabrication.

One other thing.... the fasteners sticking out of the bottom could make for some interesting strikes on obstacles.

I’m going to cut those off or flip them over before we hit a trail

Awesome. Also any chance to add a video of the horns when you're done. I'm seriously considering this myself. I have a mischievous streak when it come to honking the horn at people or friends when they least expect. LOL

I don’t have a picture, but they are a direct bolt in. They go right in front of the gas tank
Awesome! Would love to see some pics of that if you get a chance. Are they pretty hidden/protected there?
