Here we go...again...The Tonneau Cover/Bed Rack Crossbar Problem from Hell Saga continues!!!
Below are some pics, upon inspection the box(es) are banged up and dirty, don’t have a clue what they went through, but the parts inside were wrapped well enough to weather the journey... after opening and comparing them to the test bracket you can see/notice how much longer/larger the bracket mounts are. Guess they can do this for a few reasons, one to save metal, 2) so somebody can’t order 4 or 8 and drill them to fit, *think I read a post by someone on here who bought a few and the company changed their policy to avoid other customers from doing this in their future...
Anyhoo...here lies another problem with the tonneau...as the railing from the cover extends into the bed the brackets cannot sit flush to the Trail-Rail and if I were to buy longer bolts would that decrease the load weight ?? Most likely...and if you don’t, the crossbars are not going to fit... so...going to either try to lift the cover up and see if I can mount the brackets, then replace the tonneau cover...will probably have to buy a different track-bracket for the tonneau cover and longer Allen bolts...UNLESS one of y’all have a saving me money/time/and face idea/plan you’re willing to share...I’d really appreciate it, and I’ll buy you so much beer....and you’ll have my utmost respect forever!!
All the best. Thanks.

I believe the brackets go under your tonneau rails. You'll more than likely need to add some additional weather stripping down the bottom of the tonneau rails where the brackets do not touch. The brackets will stick out wider than the bed.

Unless I'm reading your problem wrong.

No, no...you’re correct. I truly hoped it would’ve worked sans the removal of those rails and the tonneau like it shows on some of their website pics. As this will pose yet another problem or two like you mentioned with the stripping and trying to line up the tonneau rails because that thin metal bracket won’t be long enough to attach back in its original place...this ordeal is getting out of hand.

lol. That pic, Epic!! Yes, that is how to do it...I saw you post earlier this week about your build, mad props!! I wish I had that setup, or some friends that had welders and a metal shop around here.
Yeah, that photo I posted, seems some other people with the Tri-Fold tonneau are having the same sorta problem with brackets and I haven’t seen any, thought I’d put it out here for scale, I know it goes under and will have to be slid over as well, too bad MaXMod doesn’t have something like yours...I did see the URTC style but would run into the same problem with the weather stripping...oh well...
But seriously, yours is way cooler
