What is the minimum lift to run 40s with mild wheeling? Is a 2.5 EVO lift adequate or would I need to go up to 4.5? This would be for Rubicon and auto transmission.

Also suggestions for re-gearing and any other components to upgrade?

Thanks for inputs

I know nothing about lifts but I'd put my money on 4.5

It also depends on what you are starting with. My LE with 37 KO2s on stock rims with a 2 inch Mopar lift sits very high above the tires. I think that I could easily run 40s on the street and I would have to see them mounted before I would speculate on how 40s would be off road. Since I have no desire to go any larger that question will remain unanswered though.

If you’re actually gonna take it places that 40” tires require, you need entirely new axle sets and bigger driveshafts and if you’re not chopping body panels, 4.5” of lift.

If you’re doing it for looks and I can’t imagine why someone would do that, I strongly recommend you swap in 5.13 gears and get a big brake kit.
