Was just on a recent trip and warning light popped up on dash. I was about 500 miles away and luckily I was near a Jeep/Ram Dealership. Stopped in to have them take a look. The tech said it was a misfire code that triggered the warning light but without diving more into it all the could do was clear the code for me and told me to take it into dealership when I got back home. So now that I am back will bring it to the dealership and have them take a look. Seems like some others have had this problem. My JT has 35,000 miles and has had no issues other than steering box issues.

Many dozens of reasons for a misfire.
There's no way of predicting how simple or complex it will be, or what's involved without a whole lot more information about the specifics of the conditions under which it occurred.
Mine happens on hot startup - a simple command to make it learn CCDIFF and it was resolved.

Others may find it to be spark plug, coil, fuel injector, valve train issue or a host of other possible causes.
And there are different types of misfire codes - was it a specific cylinder? Multiple cylinder misfires? Ignition misfire?
When we say some others have had this problem, it's almost like saying "others have had flat tires" or "others have had leaks", or whatever. Can't lump them all together at all.

Kind of Surprised me as I had driven about 400 miles and stopped for quick stretch and to purchase some stuff from a small bakery. Was in there for about 10-15 minutes came out and started it back up. I didn't notice it at first but as driving up the road saw the warning light and located the dealership to stop into. No issues at all other than that while I was away or the drive back. They just mentioned to maybe have dealership near home look further into it

Not sure if you got this all sorted, but I was and still I am experiencing this issue. I am 99% sure the dealership figured things out today. It was the third time it was in there. There’s a wiring harness underneath the cylinders, and it was rubbing against them. It caused an electrical short to the ground, and Caused misfiring on cylinder one. I’m talking serious misfiring. Not 10 or 20. Hundreds of them every minute. I think I’m good. Time will tell. If it happens one more time to dealership said they will have to replace my vehicle. Let me know if you got yours to figure it out.
