Mojave leather Door Armrest fitment

Purchased the Black leather w orange stitch Mojave door pulls/armrests from the “Mojave part list” thread and to my surprise the part is way different then the stock vinyl one from my cloth interior Mojave!! Any thoughts? Crazy they made 2 different size parts? And apparently different door panels between the 2 trims cloth/leather?

I am in a similar situation - I reached out to the people at leatherseats.com and they sell leather covers that are applied to the existing armrests. Still waiting on my MY22 to arrive at the dealership but I am heavily weighing this option.

Doors are the same.

I reached out and they said they could make them to order. I plan to call once I take delivery.

I plan to get armrests, center console lid and dash.

That really sucks. I have a 21 Mojave with the upgraded "stitched" Katzkin leather and I've been wanting the dash pad and arm rests. My arm rests look like yours and when I go to the referenced thread, the P/N shows it's only available for 2020.

I didn’t find this thread before I purchased the Leather door armrests so I decided what the hell and tried to hack them in. I was able to make the rear door armrests work on the standard door skin, but haven’t attempted the fronts yet.

I did hack up the old armrests for a brace and reused the plastic insert so there was no plan B. It takes a lot of multi-tool usage for fine cuts to get everything lined up, and is not for the faint of heart.

It turned out looking like factory, but it’s not beautiful on the back by any means.

It took a lot of messing around, but it’s solid since I used the front mount from the previous armrest to help hold the leather. Used some PVC I had laying around plus JBWeld plastic bonder.

Created a paper template & drilled some holes for the longer leather piece to be screwed to the skin. This allowed the leather to run with the natural line of the existing door skin.

Also had to shorten a few of the screw braces as they were too long for the standard skin, but got use of almost all screw brackets so it‘s fastened down as much as it would be to the correct door skin.

Sorry, wasn’t planning on a write-up, so don’t have great detail of messing around with it to make it work. I can try to answer any questions if someone else gives it a shot.
