My 2024 Mojave just passed 1000 miles. I came from a 2020 sport with pizza cutters. (255/75)
The Mojave has to work very hard compared to the sport
.
70 on the hwy the Mojave only holds 8th gear on flats without any head wind.
Often dropping to 4th and near redline to hold speed.

The 285s are just too much rolling resistance

Going to 35s so I will regearbbut why does jeep think 4.10 is short enough for these tires is beyond me.

Other than gearing love this truck

I appreciate that you came from a Sport and, therefore, have a basis for comparison. I bought a Mojave and almost immediately switched to 35s and I thought it was totally fine. But had no basis to compare. Only once I switched to 37s did a need to regear become obvious to me.

Yeah. It's a fair point if I hadn't run skinning tires on a sport maybe I wouldn't be bothered by the 8-7-6-5-4-5-6-7-8 hunting on the hwy

I think gearing will solve it. The sport rarely dropped below 7th on the hwy

I'm on 37x13.5s with the OEM 4.10s, not ideal, but not hateful. I will get 4.88s sometime this year with a front locker

I have 35x11.5 on my Mojave and don't have an issue with it. I can hold 8th on flat and slight inclines. I don't feel any difference over the stock tires it came with.

I agree, really, the 3.6, at best is, adequate.

A higher powered, lower torque engine would have been great.

I just installed 35's, no issue with the 4.10 gears. Works great for my use which I seldom tow anything.

I had a 21 Mojave (manual) and it felt sluggish. I went to 35's and it seemed more responsive so checked the stock tire weight:
Falken WildPeak AT3W. LT285/70R17 (Load C). 59000350 ; Speed Index: Q ; Tire Rim Diameter: 17 ; Tire Type: All Terrain ; Tread Depth: 18 ; Weight: 63.71 lbs

The new tires I went to were only 59 lbs...those are just some heavy factory tires!

that should have been 59 lbs so I edited it!!

A couple of Gladiators ago, but believe they were Bridgestone Revo3. Not the sexiest tire out there, but they did well on road, snow and the bit of mud I do during hunting season

My stock (drive train, tries) ’23 JTM hits 8th on surface streets at 50-55 mph. No problem whatever holding 8th at freeway speeds. Just went through 60 mph Santa Ana’s here, no problem.

I just bought a 24 Rubicon also and had a ~5 hour drive home with it, and came to the same conclusion on my drive. It does really feel like it’s struggling on any grades, and kicked down to 5th a couple times. Will need to see how it feels in ~2k miles after everything is broken in.

I already intended to regear when I did tires but had hoped to wait a year or two stock. Not so sure about that plan now.

I was thinking I would keep stock for first 30k. Use the tires up. Now I will see if it remains as is at 3k. Still the same it will be an early regear and tire swap

Whenever my stock tires are smoked, 5.13's and 37's are the change.

Which kind of sucks to have to triple the cost to be happy, but that's really a me problem.
