Mojave stock bumper + Winch?

Were there changes in your coolant temps.?A while back some had reported no change I believe on other forums.

I didn't notice anything significant with an original Badlands 9K winch mounted to it. However a JK has more grill opening than a JT.

With the plastic bumper, the Rock Hard mount is easier to install as you don't have to remove the bumper to install the winch plate.

To me the Rock Hard just looks tooooo home made . It just don't compliment the JL/JT platform in my eyes .

I also have a Mojave and considered a new bumper and winch, but then thought that the additional weight might affect the specialized suspension, so I did not pull the trigger.

If you need a winch get one, go with a light bumper and winch with synthetic line. The Mojave suspension handles the extra 100lbs very well.

So many of us have winches that block part of the grill and our Jeeps have not melted yet!!

And yet so many have issues with temps getting high enough to derate climbing grades in the heat to prove that the cooling system is marginal at best. Why not make it worse? What could go wrong?

I prefer to mount the winch between the frame horns for minimum leverage on them, and no blockage of airflow. Also you don't want a lot more weight on the front end, especially a Mojave with the double shock system. I got the added weight down to about 70 lb with a 12k winch, synthetic rope, Arcus bumper.

I agree, it's not pretty. However, it does work and is a quick and easy way to add a winch to a plastic bumper with minimal work.

It's not for everyone.
