Coming from a 2016 AEV Rubicon JKU370 with 392 Hemi which rode great on the highway, my new 2025 JT Mojave X (stock on factory 33 inch Falken AT3W tires at 35 psi) rides way better than I expected. Made a trip from NE Florida to Texas and on to New Mexico and back to Florida; It surprised me how nicely it absorbed bumps and is butter smooth on the highway.

Too much tire pressure?
30 psi
Check tire pressures. Even a few PSI higher can make a big difference in ride quality. I run my Toyos at 35.

Did you install the spacer lift or was it done prior to you buying the vehicle?
30 psi. Spacer kit added after I purchased it new. It road rough when I bought it new.

That’s what I was expecting with mine based on reviews etc.

@Roosterblue313 have you thought about having the shocks rebuilt? Or if you know someone with a Mojave that's willing to swap shocks for a ride around the block, that could help the process of elimination.

I have a 2021 Mojave and my shocks squeaked and screamed like a banshee, even driving off the lot. Finally after 68k miles, I found a take-off set and I'm getting mine rebuilt.

I doubt the dealership will warranty them but finding someone local to rebuild them may not be a bad option.

I tried 30 psi but started getting wobbles. I’m back to 35

Sounds like you guys are trying to cure cancer with tire psi. That’s a slippery slope. Masking the issue tends to have other inherent side effects. Only reason tire psi should be involved is for dealing with tire load ratings. Using it to change the ride frequency is not recommended. That is just masking incorrect damper range, spring frequency, and/or geometry.
But forums be forums 😬🤦‍♂️

That's what I don't like about these fancy fox shocks, spendy to rebuild, I had my first set of fox shocks in 1979, put them on my 1979 Suzuki RM125😃

I tee totally agree anything that cost that much should last longer

Wait sorry I wasn’t listening and am sitting all the way in the back, did you say drop another 5psi in all 4 tires? Okay will do! 😂😂

Tire PSI is the first question to ask when someone says their ride is too rough.

Rule out the easy, it could just be overinflated tires.

Plus when people swap to bigger tires, sometimes they do not drop the PSI for the higher load carrying capacity of the bigger tires.

What are you biasedly calling overinflated? I bet you would say 40psi is overinflated. 🙃🍿

40 PSI is underinflated for my trailer tires.

I don't think I have to explain overinflated, do I?
Oh yes please. I’d love to read your take on this one 😬🤨

From what i gathered your Mojave felt rough since when you got it and a spacer lift was added and after it still rides rough. It is expected to ride similar since it is using all the same components to hold the vehicle up, dampen oscillations, cycle and all that. I would do a quick check of the components make sure things are not compressed or tweaked and the pivot points are all free. i could see rebuilding the shocks if there was no dampening, evident leakage or they had some other signs of malfunction. I don't think i would rebuild the shocks, change valving etc without diagnosing it to be the shocks. The suggestions about tire pressure seem reasonable to be the first thing to check around 30 psi for 35s would not be too far off depending on how much weight is carried around. It seems unlikely all the shocks were bad to start with but it could have been a batch that was somehow set up wrong for the vehicle specs stuff does happen. How does it feel when it is heavily loaded is it still rough or does that change things and how is it on big dips, lateral irregularities and that kind of thing? You could try a short test with the shocks disconnected and see the effect it has how much more compliant the springs and rest of the suspension are of course there will be no dampening so it will continue to oscillate a bit after any irregularities but it will give you a feel of how the spring are and what the shocks effect on the suspension is so you can decide from there.
